stupid lagging issues.

hi guys,first of all im new here in the forums but have been a frequent visitor to the website. lately, i've been having some issues with my computer lately. whenever i browse the web using firefox or IE it clogs up my ram and processor like crazy. whenever i play music thru itunes/foobar it crackles like crazy esp when i'm loading up a website or watching a youtube clip. i kinda think that my computer is more than capable of running a couple of simple programs like that without any lagging issues. i can even play most games on the highest settings without getting any lag so i dont think its caused by my hardware being insufficient. it might be an addon on my computer for firefox but then again it also happens in IE. here are some things that you might need to know about my computer before anything.

running firefox with following extensions:
adblock plus
colorfultabs
cooliris
customizegoogle
flashblok
foxmark
foxytunes
password exporter
tab renamizer

by the way, i run my speakers thru an optical connection. please help me guys. Sad

Try this tool http://www.thesycon.de/deu/latency_check.shtml is the graph all in red or does it primarily stay green?

its mainly in the low 2000's which is red. it occasionally goes down to yellow but only for a couple intervals. do i need to turn off any browsers or something?

You need to figure out which device/driver if causing that. Read the directions on that site linked.
