Stupid IGNORANT FORUM SOFTWARE

I just tried a test and got an error about censored words, but it took me back to what I typed without losing anything.

What I typed was the name of a company: Matsus-h-i-ta. This was an issue before, if the word you type contains a censored word, it's out.

The problem is, this is how fusetalk has always worked. After enough complaints the code was modified for Anandtech to replace the forbidden works with asterisks. Once they upgraded this custom code was lost. Someone will have to modify the code again!

I am just glad I live in a country where this kind of censoring is downright illegal 🙂

Your country probably has much more mature adolecents also.

Really? A privately owned message board can't limit whats said?
What country do you live in?

I get returned to my original post to edit it when I try to post using a censored word. Seems fine to me.

I wasn't really aware that message board software could be ignorant anyway 😕

 Yes, I'm sure in Denmark it's illegal for forum owners to ban words. Right...

The problem with this filtering is that you might have an innocent set of characters in there that's banned for some reason. Case in point - ?src

Or style=

These confuse a LOT of people since they usually included in a url or some other part of a code, which looks harmless.

Ah, so that's what caused a post with a piece of the HTML code from a page on the forum to wind up 'censored'...

They should really do the *** thing, again. At least then we get pointed out what is not liked by the forum. 90% of the time, it's innocent, and maybe another 5% of the time, it's fsck, which they just can't censor without causing confusion and irritation 😀

I was trying to quote you, Alone, but I had censored words in my post then...

Because I know how to bypass it (by the way, bypassing the filter is a bad idea, but this one was harmless so I didn't worry too much).

well fixes to the forum software no longer delete the text, the problem is, you still have to figure out what the censored word is!!!!

Can we have a list of your EFFING FRAKING censored words? 🙂

-----------------------------------------
We would be happy to do so - however the list is CENSORED😛
