how do i make it so that opening a link with "Open in New Window" will always open a new MAXIMIZED window???
right now it always opens the same small-size window... this is really annoying :disgust:

well for me if my original window is maximized, when i do the open new window thing it opens it up maximized. basically it should open the same size as your original window. that's just how mine is, but i dunno. :)

Hey wasabicat, that's a good question. I've been thinking the same thing. Sometimes, I can maximize the IE window then choose File, Close and the next time I open it up it'll be maximized, but usually the next time I try it it'll open up a smaller window. What gives?!?!?

weezergirl is right... but it doesn't really solve my problem

if i just call up a new window (with ctrl-N) it'll open a new window that has the same size as the last window i closed, like weezergirl says, but....

everytime i try to shift-click a link (same as right-clicking and selecting "Open in New Window"), it always opens in a small window.... AND, if i don't maximize that new window before closing it, the next new window i open will be that same small size, since it was the last freakin window i closed.... AAARGGH! :|

So is there a way to change the registry settings to have the window maximixed forever?

Wasabicat,

Here is my solution if a IE window opens in the wrong size. First minimize all other open windows. With the small sized window open right click on the task bar. A menu will open up. In that menu select Tile Windows Horizontally (or Vertically). As long as that is the only IE window open it will auto go into full screen size. Should open that full size next time you open a window. If not do the same thing for each open window. Then all IE windows should open full size from then on.

Works for me.

Well in the registry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main there is a REG_SZ value called FullScreen.

Try changing it to 'yes' (minus the quotes) and see what happens.
