This guy keeps sending me Instant Messages. He's talking about buying an LS1 Camaro, A 4WD truck, a seadoo to tow behind the truck, and a beater car to drive to work. He says he's going to rent a house with some friends....

He works at safeway making $8/hour 24 hours a week.
 
He said "but I'm gonna be working full time now"

I said "So you'll be making about $1300/month before taxes."

He said "Wow, I didn't realize it'd be that much!"

He's not ambitious, he's delusional.

He's 17 years old and has gone through three mustangs and a supra so far w/ his mom paying for most of it. (He got one mustang and sold it to buy anohter one, etc)
 
Delusional is right, I can't afford any of that on 75% again what he makes.

He will soon get a nice taste of reality.

I think its cool. I remember those days when I dreamed of the world. It was always one step away, one more hour at work, one more raise...

Now, life has beaten me down like so many others, and I only dream of spending the evening on the couch with my wife and not being interrupted by the phone or the kids screaming or some other nonsense......
 
robcur should be in here any minute to scold your friend. He is obviously very rich if he can buy those things, even if he is just dreaming about buying them.
 
Interesting. I know a couple who bought a new celica and a new civic SI, but they work close to 40 hours a week, don't go to school, and live at home.

Edit: and they make a helluvalot more than 6 an hour
