get out there and sing with them..your neighbors will love it and think you are a warm and sensitive person.

Better than donkies. Holy shit those things are loud; and hilarious. I don't think there's an animal that makes a funnier sound. Hard to stay mad at them :^D

Enjoy birds while you still can

They used to be PLENTIFUL around here (Pacific flyway, boundary where North & South intermingle, Bald Eagles year round, etc),

last few years birds have become a rare sight

thank you evil Monsanto, your
neonicotinoids => Silent Spring

Monsanto is trying to patent genetics of a honeybee

evil evil evil

Same here. Just love to have as many birds around as possible.

You now if you get up at 5 AM you will find that the activity of birds is fucking unbelievable. Like a fucking symphony.

Put one of these in the tree.

Guaranteed noise stoppage.

Plenty of birds AND some around here.....and yes I enjoy them.

Actually, this year we have Bald eagles in our town (which is unheard of). First nest in 70 years!

Agreed

Heck I enjoy birds more than I enjoy people!

Listening to birds at early AM is like going outside when it's snowing. Peaceful and tranquil.

Personally I love that type of a thing!

If a woodpecker is going to town on the metal part of your chimney, and all you can do is complain about it, rather than wonder *why* is it going to town on the metal part of your chimney, then the woodpecker's not the idiot. Perhaps you have a bunch of bugs in the flashing of the chimney - perhaps there's a leak. Perhaps you have a problem, the wood pecker knows you have a problem, but to the wood pecker, it's lunch.

Or he's just going town on the metal parts because it likes the sound.

We have a woodpecker that will sit on the top handle of my Weber charcoal grill and peck/jack hammer the top. The only explanation I can think of is that he enjoys the sound. Or maybe he wants me to grill him something to eat?

Love the birds. Have feeders out, one dedicated to cardinals and other larger birds (sunflower seed), one for finches and the like, and one general. Then there are the two hummingbird feeders.

Even see the stray hawk once in a while. Eagles are sometimes seen flying overhead. Love those.

Neighbor's dog is let out to bark at 7am every single day including weekends and holidays. Well, today was 620am. I win. Yes, I do.

I don't mind at all. It's actually soothing to me. It's like nat'l geographic outside my window.

Also, most of them are no bigger than a soda can but their sound carries. Plus they have the gift of flight. Little fuckers got it made.
