Stupid form factor question

You've got your ATX form factor, and your mATX form factor.

I know the mATX is micro ATX, a smaller version.

I had always assumed you could use a mATX board in an ATX case, just not the inverse, now I'm considering the A7N-266VM AA and it's mATX and I wanted to confirm it before I whipped out plastic.

Thanks

You are correct. A Micro-ATX board will fit into an ATX case. In addition it can take a standard ATX power supply.

The A7N266-VMs have been working out well for me, thumbs-up on that choice. It'll take 266MHz-bus AthlonXP's up to a 2600+ too, but don't plan on overclocking it because it doesn't have the options enabled. Also be aware that the 100/133 jumpers are pictured upside down in the manual (although there may be an additional sheet showing the correct orientation). A good-quality 300W+ power supply would be a good idea, so if you have any doubts about the pedigree of your current PSU, pick up a 300W+ Sparkle Power unit, or Antec or Enermax perhaps. Personally, I'd go 350W+.
