I fucking.hate how my significant ither cannot.get financial aid because we happen to have some savings and are not.in debt up to our eyeball

in the meantime, people who shop 24/7 and have made poor finamcial choices will receive half their tuition paid

Shouldnt you be rewarded for good behavior?

I got full financial aid due to my parents making a combined 30k a year. We didn't have huge debts, we were just poor.

I don't understand any social welfare programs. In my mind you have no right to money that belonged to someone else, i.e don't complain that the government doesn't hand you money that they took from me.

I'm a college student I don't get financial aid and I have to pay taxes on the money I make during the summer, its not fair to me.

I hear you. I am in debt because of lack of financial aid. Of course, I also blame myself for letting myself do it. I did not need to go to a private college.

If you can't afford a private college and financial aid isn't abundant, go to a public college

If you can't afford a public college, stop being so lazy and/or stupid.

We can afford it, but.it doesnt mean that many others could have as well. We sacrifice while
A few others get their cake and get to eat it too.

Not saying all aid recipients are like this, but the definiion of needing aid.should exclude.those who are poor.out of.choice

I get basically 0 federal aid, just some school scholarships. Suck it up.

Also, do you always use periods as spaces?

Poor out of choice? Nobody is poor out of choice.

You mean people with bad money management? Well if they had good money management they probably wouldn't need financial aid in the first place....

How are you supposed to tell the difference between those who are rightfully poor and trivially poor? Is there even a difference?

You can thank the Feds for that seeing as they took over all financial aid contracts.

Are you going to a public university? If so, you're doing the same thing... If not, then I congratulate you on somehow earning enough money to pay for tuition at a private school on your own.

Completely irrelevant, as the rules he's talking about were set up long before that. Try again.

That's such a shame. How else would you learn proper spelling and grammar?

Yeah I qualify for 0 financial aid.

Although, if I got married and had a kid then I could get everything paid for.

Full pell grant, $100/month rent in a nicer place I live in now through section-8, plus eligible for a ton of scholarships.

Ah, bitching about college expenses, but have a smartphone with data plan...

Life needs... you have yours right.

I have a prepaid cell phone that I paid $5 for on sale at T-Mobile. My monthly bill is only a few dollars.

I opt not to keep a car because insurance and gas cost too much, instead I pay $10/month for a bus pass.

My grocery budget is $100/month.

My living expenses are ridiculously low, and I can barely afford college because I don't qualify for any financial aid besides unsubsidized loans.

Why do I not qualify for anything? Because I have a full-time job which takes away time for me to study. Because I kept my zipper shut and didn't poop out a kid before I had means to support it. Because I didn't buy a $20,000 car and actually have savings. :colbert:

Use your savings instead of feeling entitled to some aid. Just the fact that you pointed out others (stereotypical rotten apples of society) and assumed shit about everyone that got aid, I can tell that you're a major jewel box.

And you'll be better off in the long run.

I've worked for a student loan company. A lot of people who get subsidized students (interest is the only thing subsidized while in school) tend to rack up on these loans. Semester after semester maxing them out. Sometimes they will go to graduate school and max them out too. Some end up without a degree and close to six figures in student loan debt.

A lot of people think, hey no worries I'll just declare bankruptcy. Wrong... the student loan sticks with until you die or or permanently disabled.

Now that there is no competition in the market the fed won't have incentive to lower rates. when I worked in the industry the rates were 2.77% and we had incentives like auto draft and minimum balance amounts that could get you in 1.77% figure if you consolidated with us. I don't think we'll ever see those kind of rates again.
