Ok, after reading the emails I would have to say that he is definitly very rude, but you kinda did miss the point of the auction. He is just making a quick buck selling info to people and you went ahead and flamed him. That created this need to flame back. I am not calling you a moron, just make sure next time you read the entire auction before flaming the poster.

I dont think the original seller had anything to do with this.

There are a lot of people browsing completed auctions and try to scam people with the "You're the 2nd highest bidder, I have the same item for cheaps, please buy mine at a discount" type ploy.

His first reply to you clearly said that he was selling information. Where's the confusion? Hypocrisy at its finest I say.

No, actually I didn't flame him...... if you consider me telling him that he doesn't know how to type in English, fine. But that's not far from the truth. He can't type English! I don't think I flamed him in the first email I sent him. Just saying that I was glad, very glad that I didn't win his auction, whatever he was selling, or I would have been screwed.

so wait... who's the stupid ebayer here? him, the guy making money off auctions where people don't read the description, where he simply sells them info that's freely available in a hot deal forum, or you, the person that TRIED to win that auction without reading the description, then created a thread ripping him when he tried to sell you the info for cheaper than you bid... i dont get it?

First... Mr. Law Student needs to make it very clear in his auction that he's selling INFORMATION, not the actual product. It's NOT explicitely clear in his auction description.

Second... If Chewy's going to be a lawyer, he needs to learn to communicate more clearly. And his last email was as full of mistakes as the first.
"You're" is singular -- referring to singular "YOU", not "countries".

I hope I never need legal assistance in PA -- I might accidentally run into this moron.

Sandy, report him -- then ignore him and any future emails like this. And quit feeding the trolls.

"On February 2nd you made a competitive bid of 12.00 on crucial information to acquire Finding NEMO DVD for only 2.00 or 3.00!"

Stupid ebayer indeed.

Well from the email its pretty damn clear what he's offering and thats info. The fact that you jumped to accusing him of selling pirated dvds is funny and sad at the same time. It's like you knew something was up but you had no clue and he spelled it out for you. On top of that you insult him and are surprised that he does the same to you. I guess its possible the original auction was misleading but I'd have to see it to know...

pot.kettle.black.

LOL at the auctions he's won. Although I probably wouldn't have minded the chick in the first vid rolling around on the floor with me too much. ;)

First, he is trying to sell you information on how to buy cheap DVDs, not the DVDs themselves. What this information is, I can't say. It is probably info on how to join a buyers club (Columbia house, etc).

Here is what you should have done from the beginning... Delete his e-mail, and report him to eBay for sending you an offer outside of winning an auction. You can still do this...

Secondly, I am a law student, and if you want to play foolish games with me, I will oblidge. 1. The correct phrase for civilized writing is "English correctly" not "IN English correctly." "In" makes for an unnecessary, choppy sentence. 2. How can I be from third world "countries." Upon last check poor wording when writing English, we match the singular "you're" funny, the use of "you're" seems to elude you later with the singular "country" not "countries," unless I can be in several "countries" at once my dear brilliant Sandy. 3. Your hasty assumption that I am selling DVDs/CDs in the first place showing shows, not showing, wrong tense you didn't fully read the offer combined with your unsubstantiated belief that I could be from a third world country tells me many things about you. Your (should be you're) either ignorant, sheltered, completely uneducated, or all three. Brilliant Sandy, you were so quick to attack something that seemed great, you didn't give it a fair chance. I will spell it out for you dear. I sell information that allows you to get first run, factory-sealed top quality DVDs/CDs at a fraction of their cost. To get the deal, do you have to put in some time? Sure. Grave discounts require something in return, but nothing you couldn't handle comma needed here, could have added in the word "oh" brilliant Sandy. Your immediate objection toward spending even an ounce of time to receive even the best of deals tells me your you're, againprobably lazy as well. Uneducated and lazy? Sandy comma needed here you can do better. I know you can. See, if you just opened your eyes and embraced a concept before attacking what you didn't don't, wrong tenseunderstand, you could have received the DVD's or CD's you love, this comma is NOT needed hereat a great price. Instead, you lose out. What can I say dear comma needed here brilliant Sandy. I can only hope that the great Senator Kerry wins the White House, so future "Sandys" incorrect plural, Sandy in plural is irregular, it'd be sandies may be treated to an enhanced education. God bless.

Let's see here. He spelled oblige incorrectly, mis-used "your" instead of the correct "you're" phrasing, improperly used (and did not use) a comma in a number of places and basically made an ass of himself. I've bolded the mistakes. If he's a law student, (and being an paralegal myself, I would know quality) I fear for the future of the profession. Frankly, I would never want someone who flames over grammar and does not check his own grammar at least 10 times before responding.

I do agree that he probably made no attempt to conceal what he was actually selling, though.

Ok lim, you're still avoiding the facts here. Let me see if I can recap here:

1. You wanted to buy Finding Nemo DVD from ebay.

2. Found an auction, bid for it, but lost.

3. Seller decides to be nice (yet still shrewd) and offer you a second chance auction or whatever.

4. You're confused as to what he's doing/offering so instead you flame him about his english.

5. After receiving smart-ass replies from him, you come to ATOT to try to show how stupid he is and how awesome you are.

6. The general ATOT public can read e-mails and clearly sees that you misunderstood his offers.

7. Some ATOTers (myself included) call you a moron for not understanding his e-mails.

8. You retaliate to us by saying we should re-read his emails and began calling us morons now.

9. The emails actually made perfect sense (minus a few grammatical errors) and you won't admit that you were wrong.

10. You still have no clue as to what's goin on huh?

Does that about sum it up?
