Guys i was looking at my proc and well was wondering what the hole on the p4 processor does? Is it for ventilation purposes? because if it is, im screwed, since its clogged with thermal paste... Or is it for something else?
 
That hole lets gases escape from the cpu after manufacturing. I think this only occurs for a few days, so you should be fine.
 
What he said. It's part of the manufacturing process. Ignore it. This is NOT a stupid or dumb question!
