Forgot those bastards are only open on first and last saturdays of the month!!!

They should only be open on weekdays from 5:00 p.m to 1:00 a.m and on weekends from 9:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m.

That actually should be the hours of almost all government offices except unemployment/welfare and the courts.

Why should people who have jobs have to take time off to deal with a government office?

Our Secretary of State (Michigan's DMV) is open late every Wednesday. There is one in a mall up in Grand Rapids. The trick is to grab a number and then go grab something to eat or do some shopping. By the time you get back, your number is almost up and its very painless.

Numbers?! They don't make you stand in line for an hour with no entertainment other than a 20 year old 13" tv 20 feet away in the corner displaying court tv?

Thats not fair.

Nope, its actually pretty organized. Before you can take a number you have to see the lady at the desk. She makes sure you have all your stuff in order so that you don't waste your time in line. If you did forget something, you get a pass that lets you go to the front of the line when you come back.

Its actually not a bad deal. Sometimes the wait is ridiculous but that's to be expected.

When I was growing up in Washington state, DMV's were open Tuesday-Saturday and open late on Wednesday.

Here in Kahleeforneeya, until a couple of years ago, M-F 8-5

Lol, in Pa., if you go to the DMV for something, you cannot pay in cash!

That's right, you cannot use United States currency, the legal tender of this great and good Republic of ours, because of the historic tendency of the dirtbags there to pocket it.

I had to look this up, because I would think that this is illegal. However:

CA: Saturday Service Suspended
M-F By Appointment or Walk-in
MTThF: 8-5
W: 9-something

Got in line at 7:15 AM, waiting until 8:05AM to get my number, then waiting another while til I got my paperwork done, then more til I got my picture, and then more til I took the written test (driving test waived because I have a MA license). Would not take notarized copies of birth-certs

Just wait...the privilege you went through...is about to get WAY more expensive with the new budget.
