Ignorance. Winter time is normal time.

If it weren't for DST, during the summer months you'd have sunrise at ~3:30-4am.

If you don't like the dark, move to the equator.

:p Over the course of the year, locations at the equator have just as much sunlight as any other location on earth: 50% of the time (ignoring for refraction of light in the atmosphere.)
Even at the north pole, they average 12 hours of light and 12 hours of darkness.

I'd rather DST be all year. I hate getting off work and it's dark already. I love during the summer when it's light until 8:30-9 and I can do a lot of things outside after work.

Solution: why bother with daylight savings time... why don't we all just switch to working from 7am to 4pm instead of 8am to 5pm.

Bonus for DST is that it gets dark earlier for Halloween. Kids are able to go out at a reasonable 6:30ish for fun.

Next year and beyond, it won't be dark until later.

HAHA what are you whining about OP? Bronx ain't as far north as Alaska... it's getting pretty damn dark here at 4:30, and in December by 3:00 or 3:30.

And when Whoozyerdaddy chimes in, he's got it even worse than I do! He's further north than I am.

HAhahahahaha...

OP... Cry me a river :p

Because apparently playing tricks with time is somehow easier. Can we all agree that it's midnight right now? I want to go to sleep.
