Stupid Comp keeps getting BSOD's, Freezing, and cant restart.

OK, this stupid computer keeps getting BSOD's. It says physical memory dump. It happens out of nowhere, or sometimes after it starts freezing up for a few seconds. It will freeze up for a while, and it's real annoying. Like 20 seconds. It also has trouble restarting, if I try to restart it, it wont go, it wont even shut down. It just gets past the windows screen, but than I see the monitor shut off, and well the computer is running and all. The reset button doesnt work either, it just well I hear it but it doesnt do anything, it just leaves it the same, to get it to work I have to shut off the power and turn it on again. This is really, really getting annoying.

well, these are classic signs of overheated cpu (or maybe cracked?)
could be bad or insufficient PSU of course
bad ram, poorly seated ram
and you are running raid out of pci bus spec, which you can get away with using a single non raid hdd, but is really a no-no with 2

Well, I am using my cpu with arctic silver, and a taisol cgk760 and a ys tech fan. My power supply is an enermax 451, about the ram how should it be set? And it used to restart till a few days ago. I'm also using a lite-on fs020 with 3 120mm panaflo's.

Edit: I mean should the ram be set to the fearthest from the cpu or the closest?

And I have no clue what out of pci spec means, can you explain that? I'm running it off of the ami raid controller.

out of spec PCI bus:

PCI cards are designed to run at 33 MHz. On boards with a 133 MHz FSB such as yours, to find the PCI speed, you take the FSB speed (143) and multiply by 1/4. If you were running at 133 this would give you 33 mhz. Your PCI is running at 36 mhz. This shouldn't be too much for the devices to handle, unless they are crappy, which they dont appear to be...

Yeah...try to be a little conservative...set the bus to 133... that should bring your pci bus into spec... then its reseating the ram, not setting it, meaning, take it out and put it back in... and see what happens then.. if that doesn't work then its something more serious..

alright, cause someone I thought said that the manual was wrong and you have to put it to the fearthest spot from the cpu.

What error message are you getting on your BSOD? You can use that to troubleshoot which device is causing the crash.

OK, i think it is working, because I unlocked it with a pencil, and the stupid pencil wore off I think. I should go buy some defogger kit, but I got another problem. Stupid windows grr. I like reset cmos and did all a that, now it doesnt recognize my keyboard or mouse, windows is so stupid. It wants me to install the drivers, and wont let me use the stuff without using it, but how can I install it without a keyboard or a mouse. It keeps asking me for them. By the way they are both microsoft products. One is the natural pro keyboard, and the other is the intelimouse optical.
