stupid bastard pissed me off when he went to the computer show TODAY while i was working, instead of tomorrow, and he also took 2 other people that would have gone and that i am friends with, so tomorrow i go and it's just me and my g/f:|.

but paybacks a bitch, he doesnt know jack about computers and he bought a A7A266 w/ that aLi chipset for >>>$163 bucks!!!!!<<< hahahha bastard raped himself!!!!!!

he's the same dumbass who bought a gig and a half of ram and all he does is play diablo II on his msn dialup and surf and talk on aim.

He sounds pretty normal to me. Some people like to get things done quickly without doing too much research. They think it's wasting time and they have better things to do. Quite a few people do that. They come into a store with a problem, someone offers a solution, it makes sense. "Charge it."

If it makes him happy, let him be.

yeah but the funniest part is that he fancies himself as a somewhat "computer nerd" at least when he's not at work when i'm around. he was talking to another guy at work telling him (actually writing a list) of stuff to download, like zonealarm and webshots. he thinks hes cool cus he got every damn person at my workplace using webshots. "look at my 50000000 pictures of fuzzy kitties and ponies" these people really get off on having cool screensavers and self-changing wallpaper. man.........

oh yeah, i have a IT friend, he has a high paying job, rolling in dough. he always tries to come off as a computer geek/nerd/technophile. tries. he goes around with his few programming and hardware jokes, no one ever laughs... he goes giggling off to himself thinking he's smart or something and only he understood what was said. um, me and my couple friends just laugh at him and let him live in his little delusionary world where he's bill gates.

well, a few weeks ago he comes over to my place because he needs to scan some pictures. one of the things he says "i guess i get use your scanner and make sure your investment in the scanner isn't wasted." yeah... i don't ever use my scanner... that's why i have 2! so i tell him "not really, i use it quite a bit, and even if i didn't use it much. i got it for $20..." he goes crazy and starts asking me how i got it for $20 and if it was used, etc... i tell him i got it from office max a few months ago and it was after a $40 mail in rebate. "oh mail in rebates, *chuckle chuckle*, yeah, so you paid $60 for it, you're never gonna get it, or maybe in a few years." yes, mr. have no clue is gonna lecture this hot deals veteran on mail in rebates... i take the mouse from him, a few clicks later, and a scanned copy of the rebate check pops up. there goes his argument.

then after about an hour after scanning all the pictures, he comments on how pretty fast my computer is for a celeron 300a. me, "um yeah, it's not that bad, i have it overclocked to 450, i'll get a new computer in a few months. oh, he gets amazed by the word overclocked... "oh several of the guys at my work have overclocked computers!" um... yay... congratulations, you teh winar. "hey, do you think you can help me/teach me how to overclock my computer?"

FLASHBACK 1 1/2 years...
he says: i just got a new computer! a p3 600!
me: yay... which one? 600e or 600eb?
him: i dunno... i got a intel motherboard though!
me: yay... why?
him: i wanted to get the best motherboard available, i don't want any troubles with this computer. i don't care how much i spend.
me thinks to myself: ok, intel motherboards are reliable, i'll give him that...
me: oh, ok. guess you don't care on overclocking. intel mobo's don't allow you to overclock.
him: i don't want to overclock, too dangerous.
me: um, ok.

Some computer show prices from the show in G'Burg, Maryland:

ECS K7S5A: $63.00 (cash)
Athlon XP 1500+ "boxed" CPU: $135 (cash)

It didn't seem like there were a lot of purchasers at this show. More lookers and even the parking area wasn't as full as typical.

It's too bad that your friend couldn't be patient and listen to you by waiting another day. You can get really "raked over the coals" by some of the vendors. For example, one vendor was selling me an OEM XP1500+ CPU for $128. As he was taking my money, he started to explain what "their" warranty covered. He told me if the CPU had a problem, I had to leave everything as it was: heatsink/fan still attached to the CPU and mounted on the motherboard and bring all of this equipment into their shop so they could determine the problem. Needless to say, I quickly asked for my money back and started searching for a retail chip where I could get a warranty from AMD instead of these fools.
