Stupid Cat Use your BATHROOM!

My sister got me this expensive cat for my birthday last year. A bengal, it's asian lepord and Egyptian Mow mixed. Kewl cat yes, do i like the cat, yes, but he has earned this nickname "Sh1tty Kitty" ever since i got him he has had diarrhea. After many many visits to the vet and finding him a food that some what agrees with his 1200 dollar stomach, i realize he will always have a problem with his stomach. Well all of a sudden he decides to sh1t in front of the litter box, and this INCREDIBLE stench fills my house EVERY SINGLE DAY. And the funny thing is, he loves to sh1t when i have company over, and does not discriminate if its a girl im trying to impress.

Every day he sh1ts in front of litter box, i have moved the litter box, he still sh1ts as if its right there still. HOW DO YOU STOP THIS STINKEN CAT FROM DOING THIS? I need help; my vet is of no use.

NFWS, No hot steamy loaf here but a nice batch of fresh puddin! Notice the litter, i think he takes it out the box himself.

Its funny when ever i go to clean it up he gets embarrassed and tries to burry it.
 
Put a litter box in front of the litter box....OH wait! That won't work. Like Djheater said, try a new vet.

It may be the brand of litter you are using. A lot of people think that the 'scoopable' type is the best but many cats do not like it and will refuse to use it. The cat KNOWS where to go but just doesn't like WHAT he has to go in/on. Try using something as simple as Tidy Cat (any type) or go to a straight clay (very generic brand). It took us about 3 tries before our cats decided on what they wanted to crap in.

As far as the hershy-squirts go....I have no idea. It could be a lot of things. Try another vet.

A cat should not have diarrhea.

Keep trying different foods....

And yeah, it sounds like you need a new vet. Perhaps find some online groups that deal with this specific breed of cat, or something.
 
Questions: 1) What are you feeding the cat. Tuna among other things could be causing the diarrhea.

2) Did your vet give you anything to give the cat for the diarrhea. Pepto Bismol is safe to give and may work but I remember getting something better from my vet. Can't remember it's name.

3)Do you keep the litter fresh? Kitty may be telling you it doesn't like it's box for some reason.

Provide more info.
 
have you tried putting a litter box right where he poops? sorry.. I just can't bring myself to type that other word. 😛

one of my cats used to poop on the floor.. but she would get in the litter box to do it.. she'd get in the box and hang her butt over the side and poop on the floor. she's kinda peculiar. so I got her a new box with a lid, so she couldn't GET her butt over the side.. and that solved that problem. somehow.

maybe he doesn't like the kind of litter you're using. cats can be weird.. you might try a different kind. that kind that's pellets of pine stuff, some cats like that..

BTW - The cat is probably not mad at you for any reason. If it were it would probably crap on the middle of your bedspread.
 
I would try cleaning the box every day. My wife and I have 5 cats and one of them will use the box as long as I clean it every day. If I let it go to the 2nd day, he sh!ts in front of the box.
 
I did not read all the posts in this thread... so forgive me if this has already beed said.

i know a thing or two about cats, and i can tell you that there is definately something wrong.

by nature, cats will use a litter box. the only time a cat will ignore the litter box and go in other places is

a) the litter is dirty
b) it has an allergic reation to something in the litter
c) it is ill.

you might have to go thru a dozen or more different types of litter and different types of food. I tend to find that themore expensive the breed, the more health/feeding issues arise.

the first thing i would do is find a different vet. it is not normal for a cat to ALWAYS have stomach problems and certainly not perpetual diarrhea. That is not to say there will not be a lifelong problem... but a good vet should show you how to treat it so the cat does not have diarrhea and etc.

i would start right off ... tomorrow... with new food. get some all natural food... my fave is a brand called WELLNESS by a company called Old Mother Hubbard. Then I would start looking around for a new vet immediately.
