Chiwawa626 - this doesn't really happen to me because I have a personal hair stylist (ooh sounds fancy) ;)

I pay 18 dollars per cut, but it's well worth it because he knows exactly what I want each time and does a flawless job w/ it.

Is this a usual barber for you, or did you try a new guy this time? Sometimes people just have bad days, it's unfortunate that he was cutting your hair at this time! :( maybe it just looks like a weird cut to you because it seems a little too 'new' ... the cut might actually look good to other people (ie: your mom) and after a while it may look good to you to. Then you'll realize how you ever did w/o it :D

I went to this "training" salon years ago and asked for a trim. It was a really cheap haircut and they were normally very good, training for the Sasoon academy. Well, the woman/freak tried to make my hair on one side short and long on the other. I kept asking her what she was doing and she lied. Finally, I jumped out of the chair. The manager came over and chastized me, saying that they should have the right to do whatever they wanted. I told them they were freaks and had hideous aesthetic sense and then I fled. She had already removed about six inches of hair on both sides.

Another time I got into a fight with the salon lady who kept insisting I had a perm (my hair has gentle waves and I have NEVER permed it). I kept saying, "no I don't", but she was livid. "Why won't you tell me how you permed your hair. Come on!!!" Luckily, she had not begun yet, so I just got up and walked out.

Don't worry, you probably look like a goof even with a decent haircut so it really doesn't matter that he messed up your "DO". Just shave it and go with the Goofy look from the 7 Dwarfs.

I tried a new "stylist" last year. That was a mistake. I had been going to the same barber for four years, $5/cut, before he suddenly closed down. I finally decided that I _needed_ a haircut and bit the bullet and tried Great Clips. I asked the guy to taper it with a 1 guard. I don't think he knew what the word taper means. He cut the sides with a 1 guard, then started on the top, from the left side... I said "whoa whoa whoa What are ya doin there buddy?" He said "You told me a 1 guard" I said "tapered with a 1 guard!!!!!!!" He said "I thought that meant to shave it almost bald." DOHH!!!!!

So I told him to try and fix it up. He take scissors to the top and trims a little and tells me he's done. Damn did I look silly. I went home and my roommates just laughed their arses off at me. Friend came in a little later, looked down at me sitting on the couch and asked what happened... I shaved the rest of my head (well, did the rest w/ a 1 guard) that night... Thing was, this was about 2 weeks after I had started a new job in a professional type office and I was afraid they would be upset at a balded headed college kid walking around.. They didn't care, my boss just thought it was my summer time 'do'.

Oh, I found a new barber a few months later. $14! But they do a good job, and shave my neck with sideburns with a straight razor.

Went in once and asked that my hair be no shorter than shoulder length. Came out looking like I was headed for the army. :(

That was the first and last time I ever let that person touch my hair.

That was a few years ago, it's back to normal length now. :)
