Stupid AOL User is back...

so this aol user keeps on posting harassing messages in my guestbook. i wouldn't mind so much except that there's a lot of them and you have to scroll down a lot to see anything else. i've already blocked his/her IP from accessing my website, but i'm wondering what else i can do... are there any legal actions i can take? aol doesn't seem to have any place to report this on their website... maybe i missed it or something.

hehe, yea but i don't know how to hack into people's computers.... not to mention i don't want to get in trouble... there's too much to lose. and he's dialup so his IP changes all the time, i had to ban him via the first octet of the IP. and tracert usually gets stopped somewhere along the way, or reaches a proxy server or something.

AOL uses a proxy for dialup..so the IP changes.... just ban the proxy subnet..

something like 192.168.x.y .. ban x.y.. cause AOL controls all of it. though .y is the actually proxy servers.. still a good idea to block that class C subnet.

I don't know if it was actually you who he is referring to but what I think he thinks is that you are the one who found that moron on AIM who called himself melted chrome or melted sh!tstain or something or other.

Kelvrick is mistaken. He's mixing you up with chiwawa626. Poor guy got asked in AOL to join some freaky secret society (not unlike Fight Club) where everyone had a code name "melted XXXXX". Hilarious thread from a few months ago.

Only thing I can think of is to ban the AOL IP range as The_good_guy suggested earlier in the thread. If you can't do that, you could always try contacting AOL with the situation. If you have the IP and the time, AOL can trace it back to a specific user. Of course, even Anand hasn't been able to get AOL to cooperate with him regarding trolls, so that last option my be a bit far fetched.

If it was a permanant IP you could post it here, and some of us could take care of him.
