This happened to me last time. I downloaded the latest version of AIM and everytime I open OE6 AIM loads. What is the purpose of this and how do you disconnect it?

Tools ---> Options.

Look at the bottom default Messaging systems. Remove AIM.

 
You're not alone munruss. Same exact thing happens to me. Haven't figured out a way to stop it yet.
 
this has nothing to do w/ AIM. it's outlook express.

ironically, we were trying to get trillian to work w/ the OE and the contacts for work 🙂
