Stupid ABIT KT7 problem

I'm trying to get my new system setup before my new video card arrives, so I'm trying to get by with my old Diamond Fire GL 1000 Pro (PCI). I have an ABIT KT7 RAID w/1 GHz Thunderbird.

When I turn the thing on, fans start up ok but I get the beeeeeep-beep-beep indicating video card missing/incompatible. I get no pic on the monitor, same as if it were attached to a turned-off computer. The video card works fine in my other system. I've tried it in PCI slots 1, 2, and 3 so far. I've also removed and reinstalled RAM and the CPU just for kicks. CDROM and HDD are both new and installed, along with the floppy. No sound card, NIC, modem, or CD-RW in place yet. The card is definitely seated all the way too.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Possibly a bad mobo. One more thing to try, as soon as you turn your computer on, push the insert key. This will reset some BIOS settings to default, in the possibility that they were changed. If still no good, it is most likely a bad mobo. No other ideas here.

Well I know you were all waiting with bated breath to see how this turned out, so here's the scoop: the old Diamond Fire card won't work with the KT7 RAID. I brought the rig to a computer shop and they tested a few modern cards which worked fine. Guess I'll just have to try and be patient till the ol' Asus V7700 shows up.
