Stupid ABC scandal with Terrell Owens

actually, i think most of the scandal is because it's a white woman w/ a black man. OOOOOO! I guess that's still taboo. I thought we could deal with the interracial relationships. I guess not on national TV.

Nah, that's not it at all. People want to be able to tune in to the Monday Night Football game and get their healthy dose of gridiron violence. However, towel dropping is totally out of the question as far as their 8 and 9 year old children are concerned.

And ABC apologized for that?

Sad we've come to this.

$20 if it was black woman jumping into his arms it would have been fine. Same as if it were a white player.

Or maybe some people were offended when they turned on their TVs expecting to see a football game and were treated to soft porn.

While it was probably inappropriate, it was really no more "porn-like" than 90% of the beer commercials and such that typically accompany MNF and other television. It was a commerical for a sexy TV show. I've seen much worse on prime-time TV before. I dont' know what the fuss is all about.

Maybe the combination of interracial coupling + implied sex + MNF was just a bit too much for some uptight folks. But if they wanted to protest this, they should at least rank it pretty low compared to some of the other "smut" out there. 😛

Not according to Tony Dungy who described the intro as "racially insensitive."

LMAO!!

If you think *that* was soft porn, you definitely need to crawl out from under your rock more often!!

My take on this is HEIL BUSH & COMPANY! Obey the FCC, the hordes of the moral majority are ready to take this country back. First offense FINE OF A MILLION DOLLARS, second offense you get a lashing, third offense will be death the to the executives in charge. No problem with the fact that Der Fuhrer and his minions are shooting unarmed combatants, but a woman in a towel is worthy of censorship.

This is just way out of proportion. I agree that some of this has to do with the demonization to which the religous fundamentalists out there in red-state-land are attempting to force their "holier-than-thou" upon the rest of us and the media.

There was absolutely nothing wrong with the spot, and kids should well have been to bed by 9pm. Football is rough, tough and mostly-manly business; we don't need to be pussied down into family entertainment.

Suppression comes and goes, and makes the backlash stronger when it breaks free (suppressive 60s, progressive 70s, suppressive 80s, progressive 90s, etc.).

Did he really say that? Does anyone else hold this view, because I can't understand how it could be "racially insensitive." I'm trying to understand that view, but I can't.

i watch that video, it wasxnt offensive to me, not like they showed her breast or her pusyy area(am i allow to say the P word here?). On soap operas they sometimes show the people all most half-naked. What ironic though, we can watch the national geo graphic, and when they do a show about some culture over africa, it ok for them to show there boobs and stuff on tv. but when it comes to american peopleo n tv showing boobs and stuff it a big no no.

Dude, football IS soft porn. Strapping fieldhand types in extremely tight pants. Men writhing in piles, doing God knows what, as the authorities try desperately to seperate them.

Tight ends. Wide recievers. Double coverage. The 'prevent' defense, which almost never works.

Going straight up the middle. "Extra yardage".

Most every play starts with one guy bending over, ass in the air, and another approaching him from behind, and placing his hands in that nether no-man's land between the rectal region and the gonadial zone.

Then he starts barking random numbers like a dog, and everyone on both sides get tense and expectant.

Yikes!

Also, rip, please, come on back in here and just try and tell me that there was even one sane and sentient American who tuned into this MNF game, involving "America's Team", the Dallas Cowboys, and didn't salaciously expect that semi-talented clan of scantily clad ex-exotic dancers known country wide as the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders to be repeatedly showing far more jiggle and cleavage in long, loving camera closeups than was revealed in that entire lame and tame promo piece.

I knew as soon as that white woman jumped into the big buck's arms that there was going to be trouble in River City.

Personally, I thought the promo was stupid, but, as our recent election showed, stupidity is not a sin, it's a "value".

Terrell Owens for President!

His has clear, consistent values. You know where he stands on things. He doesn't flip flop. He doesn't use big words and he's not French. He takes bold steps, holds clear cut positions, and he sticks by them. In today's political terms, what's not to like? 😛

Besides the fact that he is an asshole?
