Most people have logic. Most people don't defend irrefutable ideas as well.

and again christianity tries to subvert logic yet again. well that can be said of most religions. If reasoning makes us human then we should deny it and become animals?

Claims are validated and invalidated through logic and if through logic these claims are irrefutable then they are true. So if you say the claims are irrefutable then you must succumb to them by logic. Otherwise you deny it. nice to know that Christians want to be (dogs), etc. :laugh:

They only accepted that the world was round when reality beat the piss out of them, not to mention the universe revolving around us...etc.

You could come up with rock solid evidence that Jesus was nothing more than a normal preacher and that the Bible was nothing more than an elaborate book of fables and fanatics would dismiss that evidence as BS. Why? Because faith doesn't rely on reality, it relies on personal choice to believe something which cannot be proven or disproven by reality.

and it was simply a proof of my argument. That christianity is preaching animalization if you can really call it that so yes a dog is a good example. What's wrong with a dog? It's fun, loving, and a human companion but essentially not a human. A human's best friend but not a human. and on and on.

Faith is stronger than the truth. But I suspect this is just another story about Jesus that is no closer to the truth than the bible.

oh I don't think I could get any less emotional when I really don't care... that's right. I like debate and I don't really care about which topic. If he refuses to believe something when it is proven with a decent amount of certainty then yes he is choosing ignorance. Attack the argument. Not the man. And if you look at what I said I said "I doubt this very much..."

elfenix btw sure they changed... but only after one of galileo's friends became pope. He kind of helped to shift it. but if religious beliefs can be wrong once then it is possible that they are wrong more then once or wrong altogether.

imo anything that claims absoluteness will fail because the only absolute is technically god.

Yes but Christians excelled at suppressing scientific knowledge or exploration and alternative ideas. If we are to hold ourselves to a higher standard than "the whole world" then why not question the status quo? Are we no better than barbarians where we cannot question something which has no basis in fact and only in faith?

Personally, I believe in God, so don't even try to pigeonhole me. However, I do not believe in Christ's divinity, nor the "divine inspiration" of the Bible. Christ was nothing more than a missionary, and a good one at that, who has been used and abused by those who seek more power. The Bible is their tool to do so.

James Cameron made a movie about my gardener? Hmm, who'd have thought he lead such an interesting life. He mows my lawn once a week, drives a beat up old Nissan pickup and barely speaks any English...I don't see how the subject matter is all that interesting but hey, who am I to question Hollywood?

They are unconnected unless you logically connect them seeing that logic is not only mentioned but that examples are being used showing how evil logic really is.

If I may be so bold I'll state that I now know why many christians refuse to justify their beliefs. To justify is of course to use logic and that is too evil. 😉 Even explanations are evil. funny though how many great thinkers(religious) in history have been scholars as well. The 3 arguments for the existence of god all use logic, infact their argument is based on it and the church awarded them sainthood. :thumbsup:
