Carl Edward Roland, 41, got onto the 18-story crane around 5 p.m. Wednesday and told police he was thinking of killing himself by jumping, authorities said.
Why am I NOT seeing a problem here?

And people want to ban stun guns. This story is proof that law enforcement needs stun guns. A very good tool in subduing unruly people, imho.

We need a pic of the guy getting taserized. And then put a "Pwned" stamp on it.

Moral of the store is don't forget to take a few bottles of water with you when you plan on holing up on a crane to get away from the police.

You can't kill someone because they climbed a crane. Sorry.
He didn't just climb a crane; he is suspected of murdering his GF. (Not that that would justify sniping him. ..)

Jumpr is right, we can't just going around shooting people.

Encouraging them to jump, on the other hand...

If he's a homicide suspect threatening to jump, then as long as he's not going to hurt anyone on the bottom, let him jump. The only problem I see is that somebody has to clean up a gawdawful mess.

Law enforcement shouldn't encourage people to take their lives. Unless it saves the lives of the innocent.

And just because he's a homicide suspect does not mean he's committed a crime. For all we know, he could have been framed...and he's just really wacky in the brain. I'm not saying thats the case...but lets treat the guy fairly.
