Candiru fish (Vandellia cirrhosa)
The vampire fish that sucks blood from the gills of larger fish.
But does not hesitate to find that yummy-yummy yumm-yumm in the urethra, inside a mans pilar of love : The humble penis.
Or even seeks to draw blood in the portal to heaven : A vagina !
People should be aware of when to and when not to go skinny dipping...

Often, ticks are riddled with bacteria, and other microbial life that perhaps also can alter genes or change behavior from the newly acquired host.
Perhaps the vampire ground finch got the diet and accompanying behavior through the microbes that the tick often itself is a host to.

1975ish, IIRC, 0.79c vs today. That was gramps and he died in 77. I ran out a bit ago and went to a different lube. Saw this at wal mart when I was looking for triflow.

I miss those metal cans. The plastic ones suck. I got a bottle once that had a clever new design. It had a straw that fit inside the nozzle, and you pulled it up to use it. I think it was a friction fit, and very flexible. Gave you ~3" of extra reach to fit in small areas. Pretty cool, right? Guess what happens when store it in a hot truck. I lost a whole bottle of oil that got blown out of the spout when it heated up...

That reminded me, I was (a few months ago old) when I learned Moby-Dick was at least partially inspired (particularly how it ends) by a true case of a whale attacking and sinking a whaler named the Essex, with the 20-man crew abandoning ship in their whaleboats. After a month at sea in the whaleboats, they finally landed on Henderson Island, which was uninhabited at that time. Three men elected to stay on the Island, while the other 17 took back to the sea in an attempt to reach the South American coast. The men on the Island survived and were rescued, but only 5 of the 17 in the whaleboats were alive by the time they were rescued. They had resorted to cannibalism.

Yes, that's a real interesting story I also recently came across. When Donald Sutherland died, Prime Video had several films he was in. One of them I watched was a TV series Moby Dick, with William Hurt as Ahab. Sutherland had a small but cool part as a preacher before the journey. Not as awesome as the old movie with Gregory Peck as I remember it as a kid, but it was ok.
Anyway, before the Essex reached Henderson Island, they stopped at an island in the Galapagos. One of the crew members set a fire, for fun. Later on it seemed a few species became extinct as a result. A tortoise and a mockingbird.

Anubis was just a naked cat ! A sphynx.
Has nobody ever wondered ? Why in heavens name... Everywhere it is written that Anubis, the Egyption god has the head of a canine , typically mentioned as a jackal.
We all know how the diversity of cats happened. Ancient Egypt is riddles with cats. They loved cat.
And yet, of course this is not entirely true :
It seems bastet was the god with the head of a cat... A sphynx ? or perhaps
Anubis was a sphynx and Bastet was a cat with more fur.
One looking mean, and the other more cuddly.
Of course, breading cats with specific traits, was highly likely also practiced at those times long ago...

Rap, hip hop, etc just don't compute. Part of the reason is that even str up rock n roll, my neurons have greater or lesser amounts of difficulty "decoding" sound to lyrics. And at normal tempos, so rap lyrics are just . . . Woosh, ruh?
All that's left is the music - which tends to be optional.
At one point in my yute I drove a school bus thru a heavily black neighborhood. This was probably late 70s and it was still all about the rhymes, no music. Still, woosh.
