The infamous game Night Trap got a remaster 5 years ago... the ESRB rated it T.
Sannakji is a raw octopus dish meant to be eaten while it's still squirming. The danger here is that despite the sushi chef killing the octopus before serving it, nerve activity allows it to still wriggle, meaning that their suction cups could attach to your throat as you swallow.
The ackee is a popular Jamaican fruit that is not allowed to enter the United States because it's highly dangerous. When the fruit turns red, it's ripe. But when it's yellow, it's teeming with toxic levels of hypoglycin A, which, when consumed, could result in vomiting, hypoglycemia, or even death. The black seeds on the other hand are always poisonous.
Makes you wonder if the taste is worth the danger.
not sure where you got that it's "banned" although it can make you sick if not prepared properly.
FDA Import Alert 21-11 authorizes the agency’s District Offices to detain, without physical examination, all ackee products offered for import, except for those from firms that are identified on a “Green List” included in the Import Alert. The firms on the Green List have demonstrated to FDA that they have food safety controls in place to ensure that only properly ripened ackees, without seeds or rind, are included in finished products.
FDA Regulation of Ackee Fruit Products - OFW Law
Ackee fruit is harvested from the ackee tree (Blighia sapida), which is native to West Africa, but is also found in Central and South America, many Caribbeanofwlaw.com
Ok, not banned but strictly regulated.
I had read of the religion in reference to the Cathars but didn't follow up on it. To me, it has some of the same appeal as the Kabbalah. I'll have to give The Book of Giants a read as the Book of Enoch was pretty good.Everybody wants to start their own religion but why not reboot a virtually dead one? I give you - Manichaeism.
Say what? I know, right? I'm a f***ing religion major and that was my response.
After calming down at the thought of my obviously incomplete education, I did realize that it currently survives as a mere shadow of was once the major religion of south and southeast asia.
It sounds fascinating though. They include Buddha, Jesus and Zoraster (last one you probably need to look up) among their prophets and personally, I've always just sort of assumed that Jesus spent his youth (which is NOT recorded in any of the canonical gospels) in the "east" probably learning Buddhism. That probably sounds strange but if you read anyof the "gnostic" gospels, it sort of makes sense.
Anyway, the texts of Mani (hence the name) were lost for centuries but eventually resurfaced in China. So I'm compelled to order that $45 hardcover text from Amazon. Yes, I'm a sucker.
Sannakji is alright but mainly soju drinking food. I've eaten it plenty of times but I like cooked octopus more than raw. As long as you chew well and don't try to swallow too many large octopus pieces at once, the risk of choking is minimal. Dipping the raw octopus in sesame oil helps it slide down your throat.
Lady getting some small live octopus out of the fish tank for me in Busan, SK.

Korean sushi restaurants in Atlanta will occasionally have sannakji but it's not that common here. I do order it when it's on the menu.
The way most religious books are written. gives me a headache. The fact that a layperson may have trouble understanding such texts, leaves him/her at the mercy of some sort of religious figure with better knowledge of said text and its contextual meaning. Then you are not really putting your faith into the teachings of the text but actually into the honesty of the person who is believed to be an expert on that text material. I have a BIG problem with that, since I don't trust anyone. Everyone has an agenda, the least of which is your well-being. They may wish you well, only as long as you somehow contribute to their own well-being. It's a miracle from my point of view that the world still functions and there is some good in the world.I'll have to give The Book of Giants a read as the Book of Enoch was pretty good.![]()
Typically, the person is given an extensive oil-bath early in the morning and subsequently made to drink glasses of tender coconut water which results in kidney failure, high fever, fits, and death within a day or two.[1][2] This technique may also involve a head massage with cold water, which may lower body temperature sufficiently to cause heart failure.
The senile people that are targeted by this practice already have weakened kidneys. Doesn't take that much potassium to get their heart to go out.EDIT: Apparently Potassium IS the explanation and at extreme-levels CAN cause kidney-failure although it would only be a factor if Coconut-water was about the only thing you drank for a long time in an otherwise healthy person.

Combine it with a balloon and one could have an observation platform that needs no heavy battries never needs to land.![]()
