So I will be in Dallas for a week and I'm looking for things to do and places to eat. The wife and I are pretty sure we are going to do Six Flags, but beyond that I'm not sure. I don't care anything about the JFK assassination or the Dallas Cowboys either. :p

Also, where are some good places to eat. I'd love to eat at some authentic ethnic places (not chinese or indian, I want something that I never get like Cambodian or Peruvian food and such).

Anyways, from the outset Dallas appears to be very dull lol.

Try Sonny Bryans on Inwood for some old school bbq.

There are some good Ethiopian places around, but it's been a while so I don't remember where.

Try to get to symphony hall, especially if you can go for a performance.

Baby Dolls is a good place to swing by :)

Where are you in Dallas exactly (N, E, S, W) so I can give you more information.

Should we stay in downtown Dallas, like at the Hyatt at Reunion? I am looking for stuff to do after six flags. Is there like a night market or anything anywhere?

If you don't mind blowing some money, get a room and dinner reservations at the mansion.

Hyatt at Reunion is okay, I guess. There's a revolving restaurant in the globe thing there that's sort of fun, but like any of those, it's overpriced.

OP, if you go to DFW on the first Saturday of the month, there is the 1st Saturday computer open market in downtown.

Try this link - http://www.dallasnews.com/entertainment/top-attractions/ and this - http://www.dallasobserver.com/bestOf/

There are the Aquarium and various museums downtown if you are into that. The Mustangs at Las Colinas, Medivial Times, Wax Museum.

Good Vietnamese foods at W. Walnut @ Jupiter in Garland if you like pho.

Nasher Sculpture Center
Dallas Museum of Art

Queen of Sheeba - ethopian food. Bar next door is the Loon - strong drinks. Across the street is the West Village for high-end shopping and decent restaurants (taco diner good tex mex there)

Please don't go to the West End in downtown dallas. It's an embarassing tourist place and it sucks.

Greenville Avenue - lower end - has good vibe, good bars/restaurants.

Well you can check out the JFK Museum like I did back in 1981. After that you can stop by the pro shop at Cowboys Stadium and have lunch with the Texas Rangers next door at Chilis.

Check out the Fort Worth zoo. Dallas sucks. Six Flags is in Arlington btw. Dallas has nothing except for the Dallas Mavericks. Cowboys are in Arlington too. Also have lunch in the Fort Worth stockyards.
