It worked great on tvs, open up cabinets, gives excelent nerples, and small bike repairs. And cought all kinds off hell when you lost that one and the old man didnt think twice about throwing that at you for you broke, it didnt. OOOOOO he would get mad if you ducked out of its path and it went through the wall making a hole. You ran and ran fast and out of his way for a day or two.

He would then have to either fish it out of the wall or go to the hardware store and buy as new remote. Well I guess not really a remote, more he hands it to you and you get up and change the channel for him. More a 2 part remote system. Oh and then the fine tuner ring that if it broke would be so screwed. You need needle nose plyers to get in there to twist it and it took for ever to get that around. And screw with the parents because you can make channel 4 come in on 3 or 5 by switching to that and turing the fine tuner knob enough. I dont know about anyone elses parents but mine for some reason would get really pissed watching thier station on anything other then what its supposed to be on

You know there is alot missed about our childhood but there is alot about adulthood as well that would be missed like......................um...................sex................beer..........sex............and..........

Being made of rubber rather than breaking or spraining things when playing sports and stuff
Playing in the sprinklers and having water-balloon fights with our neighbors
Going to baseball games in my friend's mom's Vanagan
Wearing funny colored and baggy clothes (not! lol)

I mean my parents are divorced now so the Holiday Season is kind of meh these days.

But I just remember the GIANT ASS Christmas tree with TONS of lights and TONS of ornaments with a huge stocking full of toys at my bed, giant boxes under the tree, mom making her Christmas ham, dad helping me build my Lego this or that...we were all together, seemingly happy. And those days are now gone.

What else?

Transformers, GI Joe action figures, Star Wars toys...

Building forts! Fvck yeah! Running around after school, building our forts, biking up this way, skateboarding down that way, and ending with "see you tomorrow" or "during the sleepover"...

Being like 100% healthy...though I can't complain now...

Playing doctor with my mom's friend's daugher...like I said...exploring, innocent exploring and curiousity...not having to worry about female reverse-psycho babel...

Time and life definitely was slower then...

During my college days...all day and all night LAN parties of Counter Strike in the Computer Lab at GT...

The summer of 1996: My first trip with my best friend to Germany, just the two of us...from Nürnberg to Berlin, the country was ours...then coming back to the Olympic Games in Atlanta...it was such a giant party...friends from all over came to visit.

The summer of 2002: Backpacked across Europe, nine countries in six weeks from Greece to Sweden.

The summer of 2003: Lived for three months on a Greek island! Paradise and Parties.

I guess the point is to be thankful of what you've had and what you still have and hope you'll have the health and resources to still find the fun things in life.

Tiny air ports where old flyboys lived...just to fly one more day.

They still use real sugar up here in Canada, still doesn't taste the same. I'm pretty sure Orange Crush has changed flavour.. Pepsi likely uses less sugar. All pop/soda was in glass bottles back then, which might have something to do with it. That said, I think the biggest difference might just be related to childhood perception being different.

I was never really a 'happy' kid...but wasn't sad either. Now, I just feel disgruntled and mildly paranoid all the time
