Stuff for kids in St. Louis?

I am taking my boys for a few days in two weeks, we have the zoo and the city museum planned, what else? They have done the Magic House and didn't like it. Is the Busch tour ok for kids?

Yeah, the Budweiser tour is cool. Grant's Farm... The Science Museum (FREE)... uhh... Forest Park... I'm sure I'll think of more later.

EDIT: OH yeah... and Purina Farms. They usually have some pretty cool animals there.

These would be my suggestions as well. If your kids are young, I'd probably skip the AB tour - they can see the horses at Grant's Farm (which is only open on weekends now thanks to In-Bev).

Ever seen that Dave Chappelle skit Trading Spouses where the white kid wants to act ghetto so the black dad drops him off in the hood??

Just cross the river (poplar or MLK) and head into East St. Louis for a nice tour. It's worth showing your kids just to give them some humility in life. Its rough in some parts, really rough.

There is also the "CITY MUSEUM" which you mentioned.

It's on Washington Ave, and is in walking distance from Busch Stadium. It's an amazing place for kids. If you don't go there, then FAIL.

Everything the Prop... mentioned. The zoo is a definite. Also there is an indian site called Kahokia mounds or something like that east of the city. It's worth stopping if you are driving by.

Cahokia Mounds. Pretty interesting, but the landfill a few miles from it is starting to trump the Mounds in size, which is kinda funny.

City Museum. That's the best place in the city for kids (I love the place, and I'm 23!)

A crazy artist bought an abandoned warehouse and turned it into a wild 3D maze using whatever he could get his hands on (the outside part includes a couple small private jets suspended above the parking lot as part of the maze - you can crawl in and around them).

I'm not kidding, it's probably the coolest place on Earth.

After you take your kids there ... hit the arch? It's reasonably close.

The AB tour is OK for kids, they have free soda for the young ones at the end instead of free beer.

I'd also recommend Laumeier (spelling?) sculpture park out near 270 and 44.

yeah; http://www.laumeier.com/

This place is really cool if the weather is nice. Small hiking trails through the woods with giant sculptures randomly places (nobody stops you from climbing on/around them). Great for bringing lunch and spending a few hours wandering around discovering cool things.

Don't take the kids their at night if they are rather young. lots of adults/ teens go there all hopped up on drugs. Not violent drugs, pyschodelic fun drugs. You just don't want them thinking your kids are trolls when they are spaced out and tripping in the maze.

The Science Center is pretty good and definitely focused for kids. The Botanical Gardens has a fun kids playground that kids seem to like a lot.
