I'm in the process of applying for a study abroad program.. and I'm curious to see if they are hard to get into

I want to go for a YEAR but should I apply for only one semester? is applying for a year harder to get into?

I just don't want to get my hopes up.. and get rejected

what do you want to talk about baby?

(dont know the answer to your question, sorry)

Is this a program through your college or though some outside agency? I wouldn't think it'd be too hard to get in if it's a through-school program, after all, that's what it's there for.

I suppose it depends where you are applying to.

Generally outside programs (IE. not affiliated with any school) dont have much competition to get in their program. I did a program with ISA to Madrid and had no problem getting in.

But then if you applied to a university affiliated program, sometimes they have more competion for the spots just cuz the people applying know for sure that they can get units out of this deal.

Also, year long programs are in less demand, so you might be in luck

that would be perfect... if that is true

Well, in the program I was doing, there were like 30+ ppl, and only 2 of them had been there more than 6 months

I studied abroad at University of Cambridge in England for a summer through a UC program called EAP. It was pretty awesome. Be prepared though, cause you actually have to study hard to get good grades, even though it's "summer school."

I assume you'd want to enroll in a university that has such a program and let them ship you over to wherever. I was just in Italy and bumped into quite a few american students in Florence. They said it was pretty simple to get over there, but you need to be careful because most of those programs are costly...and in the case of Europe, the weak dollar is making it even more expensive to go over. I think I was getting about $.70 cents (Euros) for the US Dollar. Thank you for our wonderful Economy Mr. Bush.
