I'm an electrical engineer and we can no more explain why nature act the way it does than a Doctor can explain why the human body behaves the way it does. So why do you think that engineers, physicist or any other scientest are doing so much more than doctors?

Because I see tangible results being made in those fields. I see engineers coming out with awesome new technologies every year.

When I go into your average doctor's office I see hoardes of old people going in to see the 'doc because something has sprung a leak. And they go back and they go back and they go back. The old fogies go in, and the old fogies come out with numerous drugs all for different ailments. Sure, they come out with new drugs all the time, but I don't see any fundamental changes in the approaches of medicine. Hence, I'm not seeing any real progress here. I see an enormously inefficient process.

It's like: late breaking news...doctor's have added 1/100000th of a year to the average life expentency by coming out with 'wonder drug' XYZ.

Tell me I'm wrong. Tell me that's not what you see the next time you are in a doctor's office.
