ATLANTA (Reuters) - The same family of chemicals that produces a buzz in marijuana smokers may be responsible for "runner's high," the euphoric feeling that some people get when they exercise, U.S. researchers say.

Kinda interesting, although I'm not sure it has any particularly important implications.
Don't worry, I'm sure some wacko on either side of the weed argument will find a way to use/abuse these findings.

Why would someone do drugs? It's a form of escape; and a fun form of escape at that. There are other forms of escape. There are people that exercise to get their minds of stress. Do you think that the DARE officer was somehow "the MAN coming down on you" in school. It's a stupid program that doesn't work. Is there some book or webisite where you get all your consipracy theories? If someone doesn't do drugs that doesn't make them not cool, or some how a conformist or whatever the hell you are trying to get at.

Pot high and the feeling of going 8 miles at a fast pace don't feel the same at least. Maybe they're chemically the same.

I think he's just grow up now. Honestly, drugs are for kids without responsiblity and lives. Most of us have been there when we're younger, but when we get older we look back and realize it's just a drug. Nothing important to rant about.

I could care less if someone else does drugs, just don't discount MY experiences with them. There are drugs out there that you don't shoot up, snort, or smoke, but we call them "normal" everyday activities, so that makes them okay.

We say we have freedom of religion in this country, but if I use drugs as my path to spirituality I'm a Terrorist?

I could care less too, but does everyone need or want to do these drugs, no. Well the only "drug" I've ever tried is pot. Hard liquor, beer, never ciggarettes. I don't see the difference between those and pot either. YOu can use both in moderation and you can abuse both. I'm all for legallizing pot.

LinkLinkus - "I think he's just grow up now. Honestly, drugs are for kids without responsiblity and lives. Most of us have been there when we're younger, but when we get older we look back and realize it's just a drug. Nothing important to rant about. "

Just don't think that pot somehow makes you a rebel or impowers you in anyway. I think it is something that most people grow up and realize there is more to life than physical gratification, not that it isn't fun once in a while.

"We say we have freedom of religion in this country, but if I use drugs as my path to spirituality I'm a Terrorist?"

Never said you were a terrorist, and I don't think you pose ANY threat to anyone. There are "fuzzy" links between drug money and ALL illegal orginizations. I would try and legalize it first. If you feel that pot is your path to enlightenment, more power to you, because you need it. In MY experiences a chemical like pot is not going to help me do anything more than relax.

Soon the Bush government will tell people exercising supports terrorism, and will tell soldiers to drink and eat instead of training from now on.

And in other news, US Attorney General John Ashcroft announced today that the Justice Department would be "seriously considering" a ban on long-distance running. According to unnamed sources, Ashcroft is reported to have directed members of his department to work on generating a PR campaign against the popular exercise, citing the opinion that the reported states of altered conciousness were not consistent with American family values, and that they promote drug use and terrorism. When asked about his position, Ashcroft is reported to have said, "won't someone please think of the children?"

That's good because I can't run. Always get short of breath, knees hurt, and stomach and chest muscles crap.

I think they just smoked too much pot, and when they ran it got all the left over thc circulating or whatever. When I smoked pot every day, running a mile got me higher than an eigth to my face.
