mm... people, regardless of ugliess, usually get married, with the uglies marrying the uglies. Unless you're rich. So i don't really follow how this happens?

How can you tell a genome has evolved over the last 10k years when you don't even have any research on the genome even 100 years ago? Science is boring.

😕

Shouldn't you be off thumping a bible or koran or something?

😕 How do you "thump" a bible?

Science does a lot of this "This is how it was a billion years ago even though we don't really know anything about even 200 years ago" crap, it's boring. Wasted time and money. They've been doing it for years, even got caught making stuff up on several occassions. It is unhelpful to mankind and isn't even worth making a thread about.

Hahaha...

I'll take Scientific tests over some book written years and years ago anyday!

You'll take made up nonsense over eye witness reports? 😕

Science isn't nonsense, no matter how much you want to believe it is. And yes, I will take it over all the made up crap that's in the bible.

Who said anything about the bible? 😉

God still speaks.

You seem confused. He said that he'd take science over books. Science is formed slowly by concrete evidence and observance. Books with a unknown source have no credibility whatsoever.

The technology that's you're using to communicate to these boards was developed slowly over centuries by science. Many of the sciences that are implemented are still considered theorey, such as signals and systems theories. Yet they're here, they're proven.

And anyone that denies evolution really isn't worth talking to. Anyone can see the effects of evolution among modern humans by observing skin pigmentation, its protection against sunlight, and it's prevalence in regions in the world with higher UV.

No sir, you are quite wrong. Things like the topic of this thread are not proven, are not based on any observance, and not based on concrete evidence, or any evidence for that matter. You cannot say with any certainty what the human genome was like 10,000 years ago. You have nothing to back up that statement, nothing. Most topics like this are simply... made up. Fictional. All guesses. We see an instance of life and try to develop an entire era of it's existence, but the only way you can do that is guessing based on what you want it to be.

I would rather not know how life was 10,000 years ago than be fed nonsense like this.

Beauty is only a partial survival trait. A genetic mask of health if you will, as health is a survival trait and a crucial one at that.

Yep, not worth talking to.

Blah blah blah anyone who doesn't believe exactly like me is a heretic and beneath me blah blah blah

Kindly quit turning science into a dogmatic religion thank you very much. The very ideal, the very beauty, of science is that it is to be constantly questioned. In this fashion, the truth is steadily discovered in a fashion by which it can stand on its own without fear of any questioning.

I'm not turning science into something that shouldn't be questioned.

I'm merely sayingthat anyone that completely denies evolution when there's mountains of evidence supporting it, and doesn't even attempt to refute it, is not worth talking to because they're a closed minded fanatic. Saying that science are "guesses" without any basis on evidence or observance is flat out wrong.

None of that is evidence supporting evolution. There is no evidence showing their skin pigmitation was any different. That's the one thing that disproves the theory every time. There is no evidence of actual evolution happening.

People mistake adaptation for evolution! Evolutionists are experts in slippery slope arguments

In fact, the scientific method came from the Bible and it says to "test everything". The Bible even challenges you to find anything wrong or untrue in it, especially in the right contexts.

When we test evolution, it is yet another religion that says we were descended from apes.

I want Iceman's powers. We'll let you have the ability to optic blast, ok?
i used to think cyclops was AWSOME when i was a kid, but looking back its just a beem shooting out of his head, whoopty do, i'd much rather have better healing power or something...
Little known fact: the inability to control his beams isn't part of his mutation; Cyclops suffered a minor brain injury during the plane crash where his parents disappeared. That makes it a little more valuable, but yeah, I'd still rather have Wolverine's healing factor/heightened senses or telepathy/telekinesis 😉

Evolution does not claim that we are descended from apes.

Where does evolution say we descended from apes? I honestly don't understand how that get thrown around in every "debate". Evolution is simply change over time, I don't understand how "change in species over time" can be refuted. Did things just magically appear here one day? Did things not change and adapt?

On the poster of evolution it shows a monkey-like man that evolved into a homoerectus. God knows more than your measley earthly brains could ever dream of. On the subject on the Bible, which is inspired by the Holy Spirit who is the source of all knowledge, so when bashing the Bible beware.

Uhh . . . so when did we ever really stop evolving? I enjoy these conversations on ATOT from people that don't know what they're talking about.

Carry on. 😀

Hmmm, the ability to consume mass quantities of beer with no ill effects, dual livers, that's the ticket.

..Id settle for teeth that don't rot and eyes that don't need glasses.

Well, duh?

What kind of idiot would think that evolution has stopped? 😕
