I think the study is true although I have pulled a 180 on the issue. The Atheists went overboard and its clear to me that they like to steal Christian morals and ethos while simultaneously knocking their belief system. So the Atheists are pretty dumb too.

I'm sure there's a passage somewhere in the bible that's against that study and disproves it....I think it's just after the one about dinosaurs and radio-carbon dating not being as accurate as it was once thought to be.

Huh? Stealing Christian morals?

Christian's do not own morality. "You stole my morality!"

It only takes common sense and a fully formed brain to understand morality. No religion necessary.

No Atheists steal Christian morals and consider them their own. Your idea of "good morals" is exactly the same as a Christians most likely. Where do you think they came from? Lol...

You can't cherry pick the morals without the beliefs that support why you should follow them.

Are you seriously saying that you think Christians invented morals? Because that is what it seems like you are saying.

Every story and moral in the bible is stolen from more ancient religions that have been adapted and conformed over time. Morality is an evolving idea that has changed a trillion times and will change a trillion more. Basically you are wrong in every way and probably should stop talking. Lol...

Why on earth would anyone want to steal morals from Christians? Christianity is perhaps the least moral cult on earth. Read the bible sometime, it will make you sick. If there are ANY even remotely palatable ideas associated with Christianity they're not really Christian anyway. They would have been stolen from other religions just like the Christians stole Jesus, Mary, Easter, Christmas and the whole nonsense backstory.

(Deuteronomy 22:28-29 NLT)
If a man is caught in the act of raping a young woman who is not engaged, he must pay fifty pieces of silver to her father. Then he must marry the young woman because he violated her, and he will never be allowed to divorce her.

(2 Chronicles 15:12-13 NAB)
They entered into a covenant to seek the Lord, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and soul; and everyone who would not seek the Lord, the God of Israel, was to be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman.

(Exodus 21:20-21 NAB)
When a man strikes his male or female slave with a rod so hard that the slave dies under his hand, he shall be punished. If, however, the slave survives for a day or two, he is not to be punished, since the slave is his own property.

(Exodus 21:7-11 NLT)
When a man sells his daughter as a slave, she will not be freed at the end of six years as the men are. If she does not please the man who bought her, he may allow her to be bought back again. But he is not allowed to sell her to foreigners, since he is the one who broke the contract with her. And if the slave girl's owner arranges for her to marry his son, he may no longer treat her as a slave girl, but he must treat her as his daughter. If he himself marries her and then takes another wife, he may not reduce her food or clothing or fail to sleep with her as his wife. If he fails in any of these three ways, she may leave as a free woman without making any payment.

Those are some of your god's morals? I am atheist and do not share those.

I'm just saying in America as a whole most of the ideas we hold on morality have their basis in Christianity, since historically it was the most predominant religion. When an Atheist claims they don't believe in god but are still moral they are talking about Christian morals. They have no morals of their own.

Yup so where do you think an Atheists morals came from.

When a dog sacrifices himself to save his master, is it because Jesus?

Its in the bible but you make it sound like this is what they would teach at mass. They do not.

If you need a book to teach you morals I feel bad for you son
I got 99 problems but a lack of empathy ain't one

If you divorce it from religion its not hard to see at all.

You have one group that questions what they are told and looks for their own rational explanations. Then you have another group that just accepts what they're told.

The irony is that you dont see you just countered your own arguement lol

And if you are not able to spot it ill help you. You just said that an athiest morals are the same as christian morals except we didnt need a book or religion to tell us that. So if an athiest can derive the same morals as a christian it proves christanity didnt invent morals.

An atheists moral code would have to come from logic as that is all they believe in. What is the most logical way for humanity to be happy and successful would essentially be their mantra. The idea that all people share a similar basic moral code seems to be a surprise to you for some reason. There are some small ways you might be right I guess. Many American atheists were raised christian so some of the method of the morality they learned might still be ingrained in them.
