Where did you find this? When I checked the web, the price was $89. I'll head out to my local Compusa B&M if this will be there...

Thanks,

can anyone shed any details on its quality? i missed out on the tv tuner/capture card two weeks ago for $19.99, and i need something decent to capture with (and i'm too cheap to spend the big bucks)

I got this card a week ago...it seems as if the software it comes with (the studio stuff not the regular tv/radio stuff) doesn't work with win2k or winxp. For those who have this card, what software do u use?

I've been using one, but it freezes up my machine frequently. Tried their tech support, no help yet. Hopefully I can resolve this problem. I am using a diamond geforce2 dual head video card, p4 1ghz, windows xp. Just a heads up.

I have the non-pro version also, and it locks XP up on a regular basis (plus just having the drivers for it loaded SLOWS any video re-draws to a CRAWL).

Tech support for them is a joke. They have never answered a question for me on it. I have better luck with Google.

Worked 100x better under 9x (and even 2K) than XP!

you're talking about the IO Magic one, right???

I wonder if it would be better to have the Pinnacle one then.

I'll have to pick one of these up tomorrow. Went to CompUSA tonight after reading about it and they are still ringing up as 89, so I'm assuming the real deal starts tomorrow. (I sorta figured that before leaving, but wanted to at least check stock, and it's not too far away anyhow.)

To those with this card, what PVR software works best with it? Is there any way to get a TV-Guide function off the internet anywhere? (Like Guide+ for the Radeon 8500DV - Been looking at that one ever since Nov last year, but it just costs too much!) When I saw that this one has a remote, that's what hooked me on it.

Can this one pause TV? (Probably too much to ask for $30 - heck.. I'm going to buy one either way)

I already have a spare PC with a Matrox G200 to put this card in.. Only a 2 Gig drive SCSI in that box, but I'm thinking that either I can save across the network to another PCs drive, or I can pick up a cheap 20-30 gig drive. Don't care if I run 2000 or XP on it - Whichever one works.

Need some more insight on the quality of this product. Would really like to watch tv on this.
I am running WinXP Pro.

No, I'm talking about the Pinnacle one being a POS.

Support for them is non-existant! They NEVER get back with you, you end up downloading items from their German site vs the US one because it doesn't get updated.

You get better support from Google on it.

Mine is about to get the heave-ho... Tired of XP locking up several times a day, and then having problems coming back up. (and I know it is the TV card causing it!)

YMMV, but I'd think twice...

Yeah this is the card i have. Support is absolutely atrocious. Even their official forums are rampant with complaints. As for software, I've aquired power vcr, but cannot figure out the right settings for the tuner...if anyone has let me know.

Bought this TV card a couple of Christmas season ago for $15 ($50 minus $20 off $50 cpn and $15MIR) at OD. Great card, but the FM tuner doesn't work with win 2k/XP. You can use it to record tv with the software, but there's not timer feature. I haven't found a software to use it for timed recording that works with xp yet. You have to download the updated software for it to work with XP. No crashes at all for me. Watching the Raiders vs Patriots game on it as I'm typing this.

Is the remote an RF remote?

ptaylor874, I hope your compusa have a few in stock. You could have picked one up today and just go back with your receipt tomorrow to PM. That's what I did with the IO magic deal as I only saw one available and the next day they didn't have any. I have no problem as they just process it as a return and rebuy and gave me back the difference.

Might have to go and check this one out tomorrow.

Thanks
