Hi There!

As shocked as I am to have to recommend it, the Dell XPS M1710 is the mutts nutts, Core Duo, 1GB Ram, 512MB 7900GTX etc which is nice. A lad in the office has one [although he's not allowed to bring it to work, unsuprisingly!].

best bang for buck is Dell E1705 that has been on sale recently. It might not be right now, but look for it. it's about $1200 fully loaded with kickass GPU.

I just ordered an Inspiron E1705 two days ago:

Intel Core Duo 1.83GHz
17" TrueLife WUXGA display
1GB DDR667
7900GS 256MB
60GB 7800RPM HD
Windows MCE
SB HD Audio
... and the usual extras.

Came to like $1425 shipped, using a $750 off coupon. That's well under your $2500 limit, but I have been shopping around for a while to replace my recently eBayed notebook, and could not find anything even remotely close to this for the price.

Quite like that build you have there Suture. You could get that build and even without the coupon have change to spend on vodka. Or more desktop parts for another rig.
