Stuck yet again in HL2...

it won't open. i cleared out the upper right all the way to the valve... the vavle is busted.

this game is starting to annoy me. i'm thinking they may have made it so the walkthru book is REQUIRED!

i've never had this much trouble with any game before.

the last gate? if i remember correctly, around the broken valve (possibly a bit forward), you can shoot some explosve barrels that are seperated from you by a fence. the barrels explode and cause something to swing down and break open the gate

God i hate this. i thought about doing that too. i forgot. i'm too tired. HL2 and 4am don't mix well.

I think (or hope) it's because you're tired 😉 what I really like about this game is that you do need to pay attention to the surroundings and use what maybe look as fill, but come in handy used the right way. There are lots of these small puzzles on the levels where you can get extra ammo etc.

you need to be out of the water mate, pull back and make your way through the buildings to knock that sh*t out of the way.

People complain because games are too short, they complain because they are too long, they complain because they are too hard. Game publishers can't win! 😉

I hear ya man. Hate to tell ya it doesn't get any easier, but it doesn't. The decent into the mines it's going to frustrate the heck outta ya.

Shoot the barrell to the right of the dam controls, that'll fix ya up.

There are a fair few logic puzzles in the game, you have to think outside the box.
Always work out any possible ways to do something, and you'll probably figure out what you're meant to do.

A couple of boat bits and a buggy bit got me thinking, it's a nice change to have to think, even though sometimes it's fairly obvious what you're supposed to do.

I really like all the puzzles in the game. gets the brain juices flowing, before i gotta splatter some other zombie heads.

ok, I;m stuck in the beginning with the helicopter shooting at you in the pit area. I've come to the conclusion that I need to use the barrels to blow it up somehow. The only place I can think of is the center area that is raised somewhat. But everytime I bring a barrel outside, the chopper just blows it up while in my hands...
