Ping depends on distance to destination, and number of jumps. I used to play ut2k4 on dialup, well after the dialup era; 200-220 ping to my preferred server. It was good enough. Highly variable ping is worse than high ping.

It depends on usage, but I’m stuck on a similiar DSL, and my boy only complains about his Rocket League pings when I’m streaming Netflix or Prime at the same time. (And pings go from ~70ms to 300ms)

The harder part will be downloading game updates.

Are those speeds mbits or mbytes?
(1 mbit = 1/8 of 1 Mbyte)

If those speeds you listed are mbytes, then you should have plenty of bandwidth
If those speeds are mbits, then you should have enough for games (most games use a LOT less than 1mbit for actual gameplay), but, if there are updates or other people in the house running things in the background, then you might get some serious latency issues.

You probably have enough bandwidth for game + VOIP if you use a headset when you play. Though the VOIP might actually use more bandwidth than the game .....

Is this like Frequency and you are actually posting from 2002? :p I'm kidding, of course, as there are a lot of people in the same boat. I feel for you *free hug*

I think you'd probably get much faster speeds even from mobile over there, but as said the issue is latency, which doesn't necessarily correlate with speed. You can probably get away with 0.98 Mbps upload (I'm assuming it's Mbps and not MB/s) otherwise if nothing else is using it, which means limiting other devices on the network and setting your desktop OS to not run anything else in the background (theoretically Game Mode in Windows should already be limiting services, but also close any type of syncing apps or apps that might need updates).

What's is your average ping like in PUBG or LoL? If you haven't fired them up yet, the only way to know how good/bad/acceptable the situation is is to play and see. As already said, a lot depends on the location of servers and the hops (how the traffic is routed) from you to a server.

Yes. Sorry it is MBPs. Does that mean I'm OK?

My ping is around 10-30 for both games. Internet speed is 50 MBPS and 6 MBPS.

Mobile is a no-no because we dont have unlimited data in the UK. :(

You are still not making it clear. Is it megabyte or megabit?

That is megabits. I had cable modem in late 90s and it was 5 mbps down 1 mbps up.

That speed test shows 460KBps way better than the 56Kbps modem we used in 1998. I think the problem may be the ping/latency. If other players are on cable the game may be over by the time you get a shot in.
