Stuck on HL2

I made it to the boat jump only to realize I HAVE NO BOAT!!!! I cant bacntrack enough to get the boat without dying!!! anyone have any ideas?

In the canals? You have to jump it in the skiboat and go on.

Exactly. You're TOLD that you need to get in the boat, and then the bay door opens and allows you through. How'd you even make it that far without a boat?

I did the SAME thing that you did, getting nearly to the end of the level before I couldn't continue through the radioactive goop. And my saves were also fubared. Go to the main menu and hit new game. Then go back to the beginning of "Water Hazards."
