Stuck like 3 seconds into BF3 lol.

So I'm already stuck like 3 seconds into the game. I'm a bit into the train where the guy is about to blow up C4 or whatever and I go out the window. Then it has me use the "space" key to jump to the next car up which is fine. Now he shoots out the window and I'm hanging from the train. It tells me to hit the "space" key again which i do and the guy can't jump all the way up, after a couple tries I fall off the train and die.

I even looked up a walkthrough video on IGN and looks like he just jumps right up.

Funny thing is that I'm left handed and reset most of the keyboard commands and I don't even have the space bar assigned to anything. My jump key is the right shift button. Either way the space bar still works to make him jump car to car but won't jump me up to the roof. The actual jump key (right shift) does jack squat to get up the train.

Tap the SPACE repeatedly.

I got stuck probably 30 minutes later when you're on the roof trying to take down a sniper.
I was ... "WTF am I supposed to do?"
I spent an hour doing everything I could think of... but a video made it clear.

lol that's exactly the same place I got stuck. I felt like a total idiot and thought there was something wrong with my copy

When you see the SPACE prompt, start pressing the SPACE BAR rapidly. Keep pressing it rapidly until you climb to the top of the train. It worked for me.

Ok, got crazy with the space bar and I got on the train. Its still BS that I don't even have an action set to the space bar yet they still want me to use it.

What else is BS is that this and many other new games can still not recognize when you change the keys and display them properly in the on screen prompts.

For instance when you're first on the train and there's the rifle stuck in the door handle. There was a millisecond long text displayed that was gone so quick I couldn't read it like it was "thinking" of telling me something then all that was displayed on my screen was a picture of the rifle. So I'm thinking I need to hit the "use" button which I set to then ENTER key and nothing happens. So I'm thinking WTF. I have to look up a video showing someone with stock keys playing where it shows you to hold the reload button to pick up the gun, something I'd never think to do.
