There's no reason for you to deal with that kind of work, ESPECIALLY since youve already got a job offer, and youve mentioned that this current job wont offer anything in the way of promotions. Check out the environment at the startup, and see if it has potential. If anything, you'll get some experience out of it that you can take somewhere else.
 
Wow, your company really sucks. If I were in your position, I'd probably jump at the startup company position. Odds are you would probably start somewhere high too 🙂
 
Not quite in IT hell to the extent of the OP, but I have to find a new job due to relocation to a different city.l

128k lines supporting over 50 people per site (over 70 sites), then trying to explain why they keep loosing their connection to the exchange server because no-one want's to sign off any more money.

"Yes i know ing it's f'ing slow - I'm more pissed off with it than you" seems to be my usual responce to the 3000 or so users contacting me

Computer engineering. Now my job is design engineer in the electrical dept.
