Make that a "tech demo". It's not really meant to be a game.

As for the OP's place he was stuck: I was stuck there too. Waaaaaaaaay too arcane a solution.

BTW I consider that room to be child's play compared to the convolutions in HL1 to get the rocket engines to fire, in order to destroy the Giant Asparagus Creatures in the rocket test pit

I'm actually playing through HL1 right now, haven't done that in years. Sure brings back some memories.

Me too. Have you made it to the Surface yet? Just about there, but there seems to be some kind of bug halfway up the elevator that kills me.

Yes, I've also had some elevator-related bugs, but I've been able to get past them. I seem to get stuck in them.
