fuck sake!

after that long, you'd better win... otherwise, you just sat in a truck for over a month for nothing. i mean, bowing out after a couple days or a week wouldn't feel nearly as bad as giving up and taking 2nd place after almot a month and a half of sitting in a pickup.
 
After the first day I would have offered to sell it and split the difference and gone home and slept in my own bed.

Yeah, same here -- though they did start out with 8 and 6 bailed out over the first few weeks...once it got down to the last 2, I'd be cutting a deal. If the opponent didn't go for it, I'd be crapping my pants or doing other things that are not illegal but would make the other person miserable.

Speaking of which.... What the hell do you do for a bathroom if you can't leave. Food, Water, clothes, showers? WTF?? Forget the fact that no one has died from a pulmonary embolus yet sitting that long.

It's in the article - they get a 10 minute break every 3 hours...not sure what they do if they have to go outside the break time - piss jugs? And I'm not sure if a car dealership would have a shower or not. Not sure on food -- if it's provided or if they have to order delivery or have friends/family bring it in for them.

Did you read the article? They get 10 minute breaks every 3 hours. It said nothing about showers though. I'm sure that cab stinks to high hell.

They get breaks? That takes the challenge right out of it.

It's the same with world records like longest playing guitar or whatever. They get breaks and that makes it 100x easier.

There's audio on the webcams. The dude is sitting there talking to someone right now, he said the truck they are sitting in is not the one they win. The one they win is on the showroom floor across from them.
 
Reminds me of that episode of "My Name is Earl" where the radio station had a contest to win a car, last person after a week with their hand still on it wins. Catalina won, but she's an illegal so she ran off. Earl's brother was the runner-up but he got disqualified by falling asleep.


Edit: read the article. I could do that, easy. I'd only leave the truck to eat or take a dump. Even with spotlights (I sleep during the day, windows open) and the radio on (I sleep with music anyway) I'd pretty much sleep the whole contest away and win.
 
Why do they get breaks? This wouldn't have lasted more than a day if they didn't get to go out every three hours.
