I am having a hard time deciding which cpu to purchase and hope you all can help me out.

I really have been thinking about

Intel AMD ATHLON XP 3000 "Barton" 400MHz FSB PROCESSOR CPU- OEM

Pentium 4 / 2.8CGHz 512k socket 478 Hyper Threading Technology 800 MHz FSB - RETAIL $267.00

My plan is to overclock. Mobo undecided until the cpu has been determined. I plan on using the NVidia 5900 or Radeon 9800. I have been thinking about buying the WD Raptor HD, undecided on the memory. I appreciate your help. BTW, this computer will be used for EQ II when and if it comes out next year.

ok, if you want to overclock you are MUCH better off with a 2500+ as it costs 1/3 of the price and will OC to the same level

if you have money to spare, i would get a 2.6C or a 2.8C as they will most likely be faster before and after the oc (compared to the 2500+)

ya a barton 2500 its a lot cheaper and you can get it to co to about 2.1gigz
