Unless bass is all you care about, the Klipsch are probably better.

Don't listen to people talking about Logitech's digital inputs; they're worthless unless you're hooking up an Xbox or something. You already have a soundcard with good analog out, plus it decodes the 5.1 stream. Not to mention I'd bet the DACs on your soundcard are better than the ones in Logitech's decoder.

Klipsch by a long shot. Logitech speakers are in the same class as neon case lights and riced out Honda Civics ;) As another poster mentioned, Creative puts out some good MM speakers, might want to have a look at them as well.

Most pc speakers are pure crap. Save up a few bucks and get a receiver with DD inputs and a nice set of speakers. Whatever you decide, stay away from Creative/Cambrige Soundworks. They stink like a dumpster in August.

If you want the best and money is no object get creative's gigaworks line. I LOVE these speakers. I've also heard lots of good things from the promedia's too. Now I've done my research and it seems that the gigaworks have slighlty better sats while the promedia's have slightly better bass. You really cant go wrong with either of them. Forget about logitech's unless you can find them for lots cheaper.

You might look into Swans M200. They can be had for about $175 on newegg. They are only 2.0, but have gotten some good reviews from audio enthusiasts. If I have the spare change those would be what I'd get. Google em if you want to find some reviews.

I got the Klipsch for $230 new from Dell a few months back. I have zero regrets. The sound quality is amazing. They hit good too and music sounds great. I have sennheiser HD555s hooked to my computer as well and I think they compliment each other very well. If you're looking for best sound quality, go with Klipsch, if you want the digital hookups, go with logitech.

I have the Gigaworks ProGamer G500 from Creative. For gaming they really sound awesome. They don't sound too good for music at high volumes, though, but for $250.00 you are getting a lot of sound. Of course, they can't hold a candle to my Paramount speakers with Denon receiver. ;)

hhahahhaha the audigys 5.1 output good? ahahahhahahahahHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Well if you ever do plan on watching DVD movies with Promedias... I hope you enjoy watching it decoded VERY poorly, and nothing at all like how the movie was meant to be.

Having said that... if you want gaming and music, then go for the Klipsch, I think most everyone agrees the sound quality is better, but to say the decoding job of the audigy card for movies is just as good if not better than a hardware digital decoder.... hahahhahaaaaaa

The hillarity is abundant.
