Filing is /= Paying taxes. You're making a huge assumption that he didn't even file, apparently because of your partisan bias.

I made this mistake once as a young CPA. I filed in multiple states but made an error in claiming some income in the wrong state and therefore scrwed up the corresponding state credits (which are confusing enough as it is). It is very easy to do.

It's always so amusing to see Genx87 go charging after every non-conservative with his rusty pitchfork. In the end, said pitchfork always ends up in his own rectum.

This is a non-issue, and the OP should be embarrassed at such a shameless, weak and unfortunately typical attempt at a hit job.

New York must be different that Texas as far as tax laws are concerned. If you don't pay, they come and take your stuff at gunpoint. Plus you get thrown in jail for not paying. I've never heard of a state using a collection agency to collect taxes.

Really? When did Texas institute a state income tax and why haven't they come for my stuff cause I haven't paid the taxes that they don't collect for the last few years?

I hope they realize that they don't need guns to take what they have not right to because there isn't a state income tax!
Property taxes exist in Texas

Not relevant to the topic of income taxes from monies earned in a different state.

I was referring to paying taxes to the state in general.

There are better reasons to not vote for him than this tax problem.

Especially when it looks like it was an honest mistake and that he didn't know he had to pay taxes to each state he worked in.

The guy has made a living out of insulting people he doesn't agree with, is this really the type of person we want in the Senate?

No offense, but I think it's safe to assume his tax situation is a little more complicated than yours was in high school.

You're kidding? Oh, brother. In thousands of posts I've never seen you say one bad word against the right-wing media figures who lie and slander people constantly (maybe I missed it).

I'm betting you're already reaching to click respond and say how, despite the irrelevance to the topic of whether you condemn such behavior, 'but they're not running for Senate!'

Pssst - Al Franken has made a living out of *telling the truth as he sees it*, and that includes some parodies - calling Rush a 'big fat idiot' was *parodying* Rush's own bombastic style.

It's funny, though, how you pick his allegedly insulting style in his comedy as the important factor, rather than his positions on issues and other abilities, to decide whether to vote for him.
