Struggling Dean Loses Union's Backing

The loss of AFSCME denies Dean valuable organizers, money and political contacts at the worst possible time

Does losing Unions really hurt dean that much? It doesn't seem like they(unions) have the influence and power they once had over their members. Here in Iowa both gephardt and dean had the union backers and they both had poor showings.

Is this the final nail? or can dean stage a comeback inspite of this?

Union have little influence anymore on which individual candidate may or may not win.

However they do still have considerable infulence energizing people to get out and vote due to issues....just not for any specific candidate.

The Political shows today said they only have 8% of the voting block in the U.S. now.
