Don't care about brand, it just has to be able to take incredible weight, and resist breakage and blades.

Oh, and it should be resistant to fricking laser beams, too. 😉
 
Monomolecular wire that consists of single strand of strongly-bonded molecules like carbon nanotubes.
 
Stainless steel leader? Otherwise a mono line can get in the hundreds of pounds, or a braided line. Fusion line won't resist the blades like you're looking for.
 
Also worth noting: for some species (bass is one), if you use a larger, more visible line, you'll get significantly fewer hits. They may be stupid, but they're not that stupid.

Bass are not stupid at all. We have a really clear pond at work. You can literally see the fish following your bait. They will not take it though. It makes me so mad lol. They'll follow it to the edge of the pond and turn around.
 
Braided stainless steel fishing wire. Usually used as leaders, it can be had in bulk.

Not sure if you want this for fishing...or some mischevious purpose...but it'd be pretty visible for fishing...better a heavy nylon monofilament if visibility is a concern.

Take weight how static or dynamic?

P-LINE-CFX-Fluorocarbon line is strongest if you need flex but braided lines are the strongest from a static POV.

When I was in Michigan helping to settle my grandfather's estate years ago, I went fishing at a pond on his farm. It was clear all the way to the bottom, with the smaller fish at the top and the larger ones lurking around the bottom.

The place really needed to be fished out, the smaller ones were so hungry that they would strike at anything, so you couldn't get a hook anywhere near the bottom unless you got lucky and used a heavy weight.

My cousin who visited while I was there taught me to put a toothbrush on the line and hide a treble hook in the bristles, and sure enough the Bass would go for it. :laugh:
 
The only reason someone would want super-strong line is because they don't want lose their tackle. Otherwise, you only want to use line strong enough to hold your intended catch.
 
Strangling someone? Booby trapping? I can think of lots of reasons for strong fishing line that has nothing to do with fish.

depends on the application. from very thick monofilament, copolymer, braided line, or steel cable. they are all pretty much fishing lines.

Fishing with 200lb test line. "I didn't catch anything all day."

Fishing with 4lb test line: "He was freaking huuuuuuuge! Probably a world record. I fought him for 30 minutes, but I was using light line and it broke, losing my favorite lure."
