AIDS isn't a different disease. It's basically a level of white blood cells. Once your t-cells drop below a certain number per volume, that specific thresh hold is what's called AIDS.

HIV is the term used above that thresh hold.

Yes, there can be a "dormant" period but that "dormant" period is it simply not reproducing as fast as it can. It's still reproducing, still eating T-cells, still going around being an asshole virus.

AIDS is the disease. HIV is the virus. It's not a question of different terms...you're just as HIV positive after you progress to full-blown AIDS.
 
good thing about being a straight guy, from my personal experience, I don't think you can get aids by shooting fluids into chicks. the only ones who get aids have fluids shot into them. (ie magic is on the down low)
