They are MASSIVE [attack! yeah!] and COMPLEX as all hell

are we suppsoed to be impressed?

This is why your clients all have post-it notes with thier passwords written on them stuck to thier monitors.

Hurray for strong passwords!

So you mean that your clients will have the passwords posted on the computer and in their wallet/purse so that any petty criminal has access to their data?

Haha, beat me to it. Overly complex passwords just result in:

1) Being posted to the monitor or in a desk drawer.
2) Recycled use of the same passwords

The best ones are websites that require your password to be at least 8 characters, contain a special character, number, capital letter, etc.

Then they will give out your password to anyone on the internet that know the answer to "What city were you born in?" or "What's your mother's maiden name?"

Then to get the P/W back they need access to your email, which is probably secured with aforementioned answers, or something equally unsecure.

Just make them use pass phrases like...

I really like Coca Cola and it is 1.00

That passphrase would take forever to crack and it is easy to remember.

Or have them turn a phrase like that into something like IrlCCais$1

I have passwords that openly jab at employees who are late, leave early and have constantly been advised about it.

wb@8N815 = work begins @ 8 NOT 815 for that constantly tardy employee

li1hN1.5 = lunch is 1 hour NOT 1.5 (an hour and a half)

my bank forces me to change my online password every 30 or 60 days... forget which now... but it can never be anything that was previously a password... and it pisses me off cause i have three accounts and it is really hard to come up with new stuff that is new/different and still something i would remember.

but security is a good thing.
🙂
