Yes, but as I have been saying in this case of string theory there is know way to check those facts so it comes down to whether or not you choose to believe the "string theory" people or not. Why should we believe them?

No current way to check the facts you mean?
Will we ever be able to check facts of faith? Likely no.
Will we ever be able to check the facts of string theory? Based on history, likely yes.

So then we will worry about it then. Although if you watch the video they said it was possible because of the nature of string theory that there would never be a way to test the theory.

there's has been plenty of things that men have developed and studied w/ out proving their objective reality first.. only after enough studies and demonstrations are done.. we only confirm their emprical existence.. there shouldn't be a subject line between a metalphysical and physical world.. most of theories and "laws" that we conceive to be true has been discovered only within last 3 centuries.. i think we might have pretty good shot at this.. or i should just lay off the pipe for the night..

Well has it provided a testable prediction? Not yet in case you don't know.

I don't want to discourage you from discovering more about physics. The forefront of physics today does not end with the untestable theories of string theory. There are many exciting things happening in physics that ARE testable, that are observable and even usefull for creating new and exciting things.

Quantum Computers is one of those things. It has the potential to create computers many many times faster than is possible conventionally.

BTW this topic belongs in highly technical.

It may be that humans are fundamentally not intelligent enough to understand the true nature of reality, or that in principle any theory is untestable. Of course we can't know that since we are limited beings. Sucks, eh?

Yeah, I saw this. It was pretty cool. I like the idea of photon cryptography. Scientist are trying to place a photon of light data streams or at the portal of a secure server. So if a hacker, say, comes and tries to...hack, then he would have to "look" at that photon. It would never be the same, and therefore you would know a hacker tried to get in. Pretty cool.
