anyone see the nova that was just on PBS about string theory? i found it really interesting, but i'm no physicist.

yeah i think that was the guy. he's kinda smarmy but the stuff was interesting, especially when you consider people who take drugs have been talking about this stuff all along. ;)

yes they were free. I downloaded them a while back don't know if they are still on there.

heh..Michio Kaku was my astronomy professor (City College of New York). Very nice guy and tries to make the subject as fun and enjoyable as possible. Always cracks jokes (he tries anyways :D ) as well. He didn't really do any string theory stuff (he quickly mentions it) as he saves that for his advanced courses.

String theory is occassionally beautiful, but I'm not sure if it's science as there's no experimental support for the idea. Peter Woit of Columbia wrote an interesting article "Is String Theory Even Wrong?" for American Scientist.
