Shit this blows! 🙁

It had to be stopped though. His eye was completely shut, like worse than Koschek's.

That was my worry though. He got the mount and he weighs like 275 lbs. 230lb Fedor can't get a 275lb BJJ guy off the mount. Pretty amazing he survived that choke, just like Lesnar did on Carwin. If Fedor's eye wasn't swollen shut he definitely could have finished in the third, but man it was just closed.

LOL I just tried to go to sherdog and am getting a database error, his nutthugging fans must be going crazy overloading the site. The stoppage was good, his eye was completely shut. I have nothing against him but he was done. Dan might be one of the worst refs but he did his job right here. A 3rd round would have just resulted in Fedor almost dying in the cage, he had nothing at all left.

So Michael Jordan was a can because he didn't carry the Wizards to the championship?

Actually, YES. For the wizards he was a nobody. Did you even watch him play for the Wizards? He was way past his prime. Unlike players like Malone or Stockton, he didn't keep learning past his early 30's in how to keep competitive. He is the GOAT, but he was no better than a present day Martell Webster or the likes of Trevor Ariza. Jordan was a shell of himself.

Speed and skill helps but not against giants. There is a reason they have weight classes.

he has fought bigger and won. But not this time.

though i do agree size trumps speed and skill nearly every time. Fedor finally fought someone with size and skill.

also fedor is at the end where Silvia is at the start.

Fedor Retires... LOL.

Doubt it, he'll go on to fight once a year against sub par competition. He's what 33? that might be the end of his peak, but at 33 he should be fighting the best he ever has. Bigfoot is talented as hell, bur he's beaten nobody important outside of Fedor. His best 2 wins are over AA who probably will (should) retire after tonight. And Cabbage. He probably will go on to win this GP, but he shouldn't have even been considered top 20 before tonight.

Huh? Bigfoot was a consensus top 10 HW.

Fedor loses to a top 10 and he's been hyped?

Woosta, i know you are one of those MMA fans that can not be objective. I call things like I see them, whether I like a fighter or not. Fedor is largely overrated, he has been fighting cans for a long time. If he was a true fighter and had a true fighting spirit he would want to face the best competition. Is Fedor terrible? Aboslutely not. But he's not a top 15 heavyweight, and hasn't been in a long time. You can stop defending him, even Fedor knows his time has passed. The only reason Fedor is a legend is because of hype.

Huh? I don't jump on bandwagons. Fedor for life, I don't turn my back on fighters.

Well, I do respect that.

Kind of like how I still think Brock is a Top 10 HW, with his wins over Mir, Couture and Carwin. We'll soon find out how legit Couture still is if he shows well against Machida. If Couture wins, Brocks win is cemented as an dominant win over an elite fighter. If he shows a strong showing but loses, Brock is still considered to be one of the best and now couture got washed out. If Couture loses badly, Brock is in the same situation he is in now.

Fedor has fought more top 10 guys in the last 4 years than any other HW. Can you statistically refute my statement? If so please do it. Otherwise you are simply wrong.

Bigfoot
Werdum
Arlovski
Sylvia
Rogers

5 top 10 HWs and 3-2 against them.

Cain Velasquez: Big Nog, Brock Lesnar
Brock Lesnar: Mir, Carwin, Cain, Couture
JDS: Werdum, maybe Nelson if you count him
Carwin: Lesnar, Mir
Mir: Carwin, Brock, Big Nog

I have been a fedor fan for several years now. It was unfortunate to see him lose twice in a row. Lets be honest though, MMA is continually evolving getting more and more technical, more and more cutting weight to make weight class. He is clearly 20-30 pounds overweight, not counting the ability to take some heavy diuretic on top of that. Fedor could easily fight in 205 by dropping a mere 10 pounds + diuretics. Heck, I am a light (relatively speaking) guy and I can drop 8-10 pounds just by depleting glycogen stores. How much more a guy who is 50 pounds heavier than myself?

That is just being realistic. However, here are the facts:

1) Fedor is overweight
2) Fedor is getting older
3) Fedor is no longer a top 10

RIP

Fedor way to pass up MILLIONS from UFC for a 1-2 record in SF. DONE. Hes used goods now.
